Coin-Op made it up to drive traffic to their site or something like that, this was in like 1999/2000

The funny thing is, that long documentary where the guy contacted the owner of Coin-Op, the owner made it so obvious it was a ruse. Not that it wasn't obvious anyway, but his reply was so dumb.

All he had to say was "Someone emailed me about it years ago and sent the pictures, I don't have the email anymore, sorry" But instead he gave some cryptic response that just made me roll my eyes.

Anyone have a torrent of this?

It sounds kinda interesting, but I don't want to pay this fag money for it.

Its a long video but worth the listen if you're actually curious OP.

Stuart Brown is a gem of a man.

It was actually a common practice in the 1980s to put black, nameless arcade cabinets into arcades for game testing.

Some kid played a game, told his friends about it, who told their friends about it, and the whole thing telephoned out into the unrecognizable form it's in today.

Even the name, Polybius, comes from the Greek philosopher and historian credited with creating modern journalism, meaning seeking out the objective truth of a matter to the best of your ability, and not relying entirely on word-of-mouth. It's an obvious lampshade on the story.

Ok. Who wrote this book.

kek, did not expect this.

This guy is begging to get doxxed, or something. Gonna download it, before he takes it off. Unless anybody already has a torrent

From the preview, this sounds like an autism goldmine.

This dumb meme is in every single post 2000's film that features an arcade. It's not even an easter egg anymore.

Some think the game is actually this one

Made by the same team that later made I, Robot, one of the first 3D games. It's trippy one to be sure, and matches the gameplay of Polybius pretty well.

Shit. Okay, I’m gonna read it. I’ll report back to you guys if thread’s still up

If you're not bullshitting, tell us more. What was the gameplay? What was it about?

I’m halfway through. This is better than I expected desu. Nice to see one of us wrote a book

Late to the party no doubt but I recently watched the Polybius episode of Dimension 404 since it was literally the only one that sounded remotely interesting. But hooo damn what a letdown. They had one or two interesting ideas but overall this was trash. This plus the AVGN episode about it has me really wanting a quality Polybius horror short/movie/anything but whoever tries keeps fucking it up.

Niggers.

I can see it, like ready player one but with more autism.
