>It's possible that the move reflects the natural evolution of Bloodlines 2 developmentāthat the narrative design is finished and so Ellison's work was effectively done. But in August, Bloodlines was delayed into 2021, suggesting that work was definitely not nearing completion, and it's not hard to see the removal of Mitsoda and Cluney a week later as a sign of deeper trouble. The statement that "many of her contributions will be present in the game" is also interesting: I would expect that as senior narrative designer, the story it tells would be primarily her responsibility.
I literally do 4 positions one of which is writing (both general scenario and quest) so... Yes?
An RPG is about number management, not story.

>An RPG is about number management, no story maybe if you're autistic
Jonathan Rodriguez
>autistic teenager thinks he's good at everything
Jaxson Hughes
>for being a sexual predator
You mean trying to hit on an adult woman at a bar.
Ryan Cox
let's see your game, then.
Nathan Robinson
you're all fuckers. It's better to have a system designer sharing narrative designer's role on the team, if you're making a role-playing game. A project can have 2-5-10 writers, but they're not designing anything. They write: dialogues, descriptions, everything. Narrative designer tells them what and HOW to write.
Grayson Cox
>hit no, he was praying on drunk women and making moves when they are clearly intoxicated, not a single smart dude would do that esp when you are high profile in the industry and can get cancelled at the snap of any females fingers.
Leo Campbell
I don't think you understand how video games are made.
James Roberts
Management trying to force some story element that the writers don't like
James Ward
Bruh he texted that bitch the way the way that I talk to prostitutes. He's a fucking retard.
All games are gameplay-driven you movie-loving faggot. Even story-heavy games don't need designated writers. The whole team can just brainstorm and contribute when needed. Worst case scenario - hire a contractor to fill in the blanks if, for example, everyone is so autistic that they can't write naturally sounding dialogue even if their lives depend on it. "Narrative designers" aren't doing shit. Also, considering miserable state of "story-driven" games, most of writers and narrative managers working in the industry are completely incompetent hacks who take advantage of vacant corporate buzzword position any people with actual skills would just overlook.

Let this be lesson on every comppany in game dev. Leave seatle!

>put a piece of shit casino owner as CEO who has at lest 10 year history of shady illegal practices >a raving feminist BLM activist >only since shes a woman
>suddenly project falls apart as people get fired left and right >starts with any right leaning people but quickly escalates
Woah who could see this coming? Brian Mitsoda getting fired was obvious sign shit is getting nuked, when one of the main leads has no idea why hes getting fired for shit other departments are responsible for you know blame is getting shifted from the top heads for miss managing money.
Camden Sanchez
This game is already a dumbsterfire and will turn out horrible.
>Even story-heavy games don't need designated writers They don't "need" any designated members.. I don't see your point here. a game can be made by one person. it's certainly beneficial to have them though. you think if New Vegas was written by the gameplay designers it would be nearly as praised as it is?
it sounds as though you're parroting that common "gameplay good story bad" rhetoric that's really popular on Zig Forums, because Sony's cinematic garbage gave narrative a bad name
