First time Monster Hunter player here. Just killed the Radobaan. I got on thinking I'd do 2 hunts and ended up killing 5 monsters.

Because they didn't let themselves get seduced by World's sales and decided to make a properly hard G rank expansion even if it's going to filter scrubs.

Hunts were way more fun in vanilla world even disregarding the claw. Monsters weren't so spongy, you didn't feel like you needed to minmax just to make hunts tolerable.

Been getting filtered by special assignment alatreon using the frostfang LS and horn. I can always get the first element knockdown, break the horn once, second knockdown, and break the horn again, but after that he always switches to ice active and I die to the the escalator judgement.
How long does he usually take to kill solo after both horn breaks? I understand I'm doing it under leveled as I basically just beat shara and haven't done much guiding lands, so my defense isn't amazing and I don't have weapon augments. Are those really needed or should I keep trying for a perfect run where I don't make mistakes and cart too much?

if the switch axe guy from the last thread is ITT i forgot to mention you can morph attack out of axe fade slash too, which is faster. the only point of the slinger burst in that other combo is to change the direction you're facing.

with fully pimped out gear and augments most Alatreon solo kills are 15min or below if you know what you're doing. You probably want to get those augments, namely health, and use either full safi or teo/brachy for armor. if you're suffering for raw damage and you don't have a problem hitting each element check, target his head as much as you can. it might take slightly less element damage but it's an 85 sever/blunt hitzone so hitting it over the arms is always 100% worth it unless you REALLY REALLY need to topple him right now. past that it's knowing how to take advantage of his moveset. there are a shitton of fun openings for big moves like helm splitters while he's doing things like flying up and doing the circular breath attack onto the ground or after the non-tracking lightning lines.

Though I'll probably give it a go for shits and giggles every so often to get better at dodging and using openings.

you can definitely bruteforce it with raw weapons/fortify at that point of the game but yeah, it will feel a lot better to beat it legit/no carts once you have all your gear sorted.
