A great game to play when its strict platforming with Crash/Coco, Cortex and Dingodile. A pain in the scrotum to complete 106%.
Cortex Castle.

Some very challenging levels, will be going for the platinum and getting some lf the relics/no deaths in levels like cortex castle will be rough

Cortex Castle is far from the hardest to perfect relic. It's short and just requires some practice. The hardest ones are the riding levels and stuff like Rush Hour where you have to cross that street at the end after playing for nine minutes.

The Crate Escape can also fuck off with that crate jumping bit at the end. At least it's a much shorter level.

The thing that fucked me up the most with that one was how even small jumps propel you forward and the depth perception with boxes. Still I'd take The Crate Escape over a 10 minute slog. Dingo's portion is long but not bad its fucking Tawna's who drags on.

Went back and played the old games last week. It took me less time to 100%/105% all 3 games than it did to get 60% completion in Crash 4. Game is way too fucking padded, still fun though.

N Verted mode was a cool idea as a concept but you could remove it from Crash 4 and I think the game would be better off.

Yeah honestly I agree. It reminds me of old cheats in games that would alter it visually, they shoulda just kept it like that.

Its just unnecessary bloat in a game chock full of it and a complete waste of Beenox's time that could've been spent on CTR or making actual levels. Thats not counting the 6 gems per level. At the most there should've been 3. One for not dying/breaking boxes like Crash 1, one for filling the Wumpa meter and a hidden gem. Also scrap redoing the levels with Crash 4's version of Spyro 3's critters and just extend their portions a bit in some places. Make Dingodile's longer in Thar He Blows and Cortex's longer in Ship Happens.

They had a goldmine of potential for that and wasted it plus hes only in the 100% ending shown racing with Oxide and Zem

Oxide should have been a boss battle instead of two with Cortex.

Solid 7/10 material unless you're going for 106%
