These got shilled way too hard. They're garbage for the money they charge, and are not a worthy replacement for the 1st party Switch Pro Controller (which is also junk) despite numerous claims to the contrary. Everyone who shills the D-pad can especially suck my dick, it's just as awful as a tape-fixed Pro Controller D-pad (except whereas that feels indefinite with presses feeling too deep, the 8bitdon't D-pad feels indefinite with presses feeling too shallow).

It's beyond embarrassing that Nintendo and all the peripheral makers for the Switch have a 0 batting average so far on making a competent full featured controller (that's with me being generous by not even counting HD Rumble or NFC in my "fully featured" definition), and D-pads seem to be a very common weak link. Just copy the goddamn Saturn or Vita D-pads you cunts.

No clue. The only one I've owned so far is the F30 Pro and I haven't seen a single place selling it recently. I haven't had any noticeable input lag like people complain about so I've been pretty satisfied with it. I was playing Legend of Dragoon too so its not like I wouldn't notice input lag.

I have the same controller but the A button has an issue where it often fails to register input, I need to try and fix it some time.
That one specific button needs too much actuation force for some reason.

8bitdo's controllers really are trash though. M30 is seriously the only good thing they put out and that's strictly for Retro. If they put out a design with sticks, they will ruin the form factor and most likely put in their shit quality sticks on it.

i've got the kind without the handles and the dpad seemed crappy at first, registering a lot of unwanted inputs, but it broke in and works fine for retro

OP is right.
The dpad (the main thing you're buying it for) has terrible quality control.
Mine scrapes every time I press on it because the plastic dpad has a retarded cutout on the inside of the shell that rubs against the shell.
I'm having to buy a new SNES clone dpad just to fix the issue myself.
