VR aka virtual reality aka that way of fapping with dudes in VRchat for 1200 bucks

>Valve Index and Half-Life: Alyx will save VR!
>VR is still dead
What the fuck do you need to make VR the new step on gaming instead of a fucking annoying gimmick?

can you hold hands with and hug the girls in this game? asking for a friend.

There is a much better game for that

you need the price to come down.

it costs a thousand bucks to beta test a system with barely any big titles on it.

don't worry user it will eventually happen. releases like Half-Life: Alyx are helping to push this along.

Realistically i'd give it another 5 years before we reach Playstation/Xbox levels of mainstream.

so 5 years until the community is completely ruined, better get in on it asap

OH NO NO NO NO NO NO

The Quest 2 is pretty fun. And if you already have a good pc its a good buy since PCVR titles are cheap and a lot of them are fun and good for a few hours.

You forget people barely even play AAA games for more than a few hours outside if multiplayer.
A lot of people loved Portal. It was a short but sweet experience. A lot of retro titles are like that too outside of RPGs.

This exactly , I’m only enjoying vr so much right now because it hasn’t been shitted yet . There’s a certain crowd that isn’t there yet .

I think VR has a lot of potential but AAA developers (the main driving force in the industry) are too afraid to make games for it since the majority of users don't have VR
So it's not likely they'll have any return on investment
for now we get stuff like this youtube.com/watch?v=cZKheiV1n4c
which is honestly still pretty cool but VR definitely needs 2 things
1. to become more affordable
2. to have AAA developers willing to make games for it
I think indie devs are doing a good job of showing the big guys that there's still a market for VR, slowly but surely

the Quest is simply not a good headset

>fapping with dudes in VRchat for 1200 bucks
Still cheaper than a wife

Irs probably the best value headset hardware wise by a large margin, the main flaw it has is just that it's tied up with Facebook.

>HL but not CSGO
I am telling you, everyone in charge of decision making at Valve is fucking retarded.
People won't spend $1k on a 10 hrs single player game, but for something they can waste 3000 hours on - they will.

What game is that op?

>what is Pavlov VR

A shitty poorly made indie garbage cs 1.6 ripoff?

what makes it shitty and poorly made?
I think it's fine

This. Pavlov is pretty bad and the fact that Payday 2 is probably the best VR shooter is indicative of what's wrong with the VR specific game development.

You need a good VR set with big FOV and good resolution for 400 bucks. Aint no normie gonna invest 1000 dollas in a sub-optimal product.

VR gacha

Because the dev is a retard who would rather implement half-assed new ideas than to fix that's already there and doesn't even understand how his own game works

What would the gameplay even be like?
I can see it working, instead of collecting what essentially amount to images with stats you could collect little figures that move and say things that you could interact with.

what needs to be fixed?

nade spams and the godawful weapon balance would be a good start

Cheaper and more accessible VR that allow me to play PC games and not just mobile shovelware

You can play pc games on the quest with a link cable or through virtual desktop, it's only like 20-25$ more based on which one you choose to use.

Not OP but it's The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners
