the stuff that is bright is just plastic, not the components inside

are you implying the plastic is doing the work of CPU and GPU?

i'm implying that you have made a shitposting thread

AHHH BRIGHT ORANGE BAD, IT MUST BE LIKE A MILLION DEGREESS!!!!!!!!!!
IT'S TOTALLY NOT RUNNING ABOUT THE SAME AS MY FUCKING GAMING RIG AT 61C

they have a fucking thermal camera on their phone? ..... bullshit

snoys are mentally ill

It goes to a max of 49 degrees

>retard thinks 60C is anywhere near hot for high power electronics
You must have never owned an Intel CPU

Did you even watch the video? Or are you still in irrational Snoy meltdown mode?

>consolefags are tech illiterate

Clearly you didn't watch the video. @12:30 they stated that and also temps at the exhaust were 62c at only 205 watts in a 18c ambient room. Thats a house fire.

>Cooling is most optimal when used vertically thanks to thermodynamics and the way the fan is placed.
>Cooling system is designed to distribute and expel heat towards the roof of the console.
>Cooling System blows out all of the heat out from one fan, therefore all of the heat is concentrated and released in that singular area.
>Incredibly efficient at keeping the heat in one area which is the top, as opposed to the rest of the components.
>Console was being tested under heavy load, which obviously won't be applicable to every game.
>PS5 has similar temperatures when under load, probably distributes it throughout the entire console thanks to the larger size.
It's inevitable that you're going to have heat when you're under intense load as demonstrated in the video. PC's do this, everything does this. It's only a matter of where this heat is produced and how it's dealt with. In the case of the series X Of course temperatures will run higher as the heat is being placed and managed in one area, the roof. However you're not going to run into RROD issues because of the way the console is designed.

cpu running 61C is completely different from the exhaust being 61C bud. The SOC is running minimum 75c and it wasn't fully loaded.

>PS4 Pro reaches recorded temps above 65C
>62C is apparently a higher temp than 65C
Retard

it’s an attachment, retard.

Owning a delidded 7700k myself that runs at 5ghz it never goes above 55c full load. Air exiting my pc case is never that hot and I don't cool my house below 72f like these fucks did in the video.

Yeah okay bud I'll await those overheating dead console and house fire stories that won't come.

If the cooling was inefficient the fan speeds would ramp up and run at high RPMS. Neither MS or Sony are dumb enough to ship these consoles with inadequate cooling, especially MS because when temps get too high performance is lost as both processors are throttled. The goal thats in mind is to run the manufacturers desired temp specs and to then engineer the fan to be as silent as possible, and the Series X has continued to done this with the start being from the One X.

Still a lot less than average gaming PCs, and especially laptops.

>full load
Uh huh

Not really.
Most gaming laptops are around 50-55c at the exhaust vents at full load (assuming they're packing something crazy like a 2080).
And the good ones are around 45c.

It's over

>delid and run without lid, LM, over clock, under volt
Wow so hard! unbelievable! Literally did it in a weekend. Not that hard bud.

Snoys are trying SO hard to make the Xbox Series X look bad when it's blatantly superior to the PS5.

the most powerful console will consume the highest temps and power

Don't even care about the 12tf to 10tf meme, I just find it funny that xsx looks like a trash can fire and its performing like one.

But you do know that laptops run at lower wattages right? Most of these laptops run at 45 Watts. The XSX runs up to 300+ WATTS.
>More Watts = More Power = More Heat
This is elementary stuff here and clearly the case as it's the first console to ever run at these temps without overheating but is also more powerful than the PS5 in every aspect with the exception of the SSD, which will no doubtedly expire quicker than the most likely interchangeable SSD of the XSX.

Slim notebooks are running up to 80-90 and do fine for years, unless it's heating up to Tjunction no one cares unless Microsoft used shitty solder or didn't heat proof construction.

Nope, it's superior to the PS5. Your console is huge and ugly and weak.

My gaming laptop pulls just as much if not more than the xsx. xsx was only pulling 205w and most gaming laptops pull the same depending on the hardware.

Yet it's not. If this were the case MS wouldn't be shipping out a console that runs hot as both processors would be throttling thanks to the heat. The goal that MS keeps in mind thanks to the awfully engineered and consequently RROD scenario is to have the manufacturers desired temp specs and to then engineer the fan to be as silent as possible, which the team over at MS has accomplished with the Series X and has kept going now since the One X.

Clearly the xsx is more powerful, if they do integrate steam into it I'll definitely be buying one to have around the house, but its still a trash can fire lmao

I thought snoys had moved on from the "3rd degree burns!" narrative they were trying to push?

>Most of these laptops run at 45 Watts. The XSX runs up to 300+ WATTS.
m8, the 2080 mobile is a 150W GPU, and even the 2080 Max-Q is an 80W GPU.
Secondly, the XSX has a PSU RATED for 320 watts, during gameplay it was only pulling at peak 210 watts, which is about on par with a laptop using a 2080 mobile and a high end Intel CPU.

literally not out of the ordinary for home consoles. im guessing when the sexbox is pushing full load it will be a couple degrees hotter than the one x.

yeah but e-celeb threw them a bone - so here we go again

Why are people still forcing the meme that Series X is a housefire? It uses less power than PS5 and has a much better cooling design.

Imagine the core, 80c + for sure, and this is in 18c room temperature, more warm places this thing will get even hotter, rrod 2

>gaming laptop
>comparing it to consoles or PCs

user, are you stupid?
The form factor consoles use is much closer to a laptop than anything else.

Heat leads to instability which means lower clock speeds to compensate.

What? Did you even see who I replied to?

Multiple sites have stated it runs over 300+ watts which is completely understandable due to the direct relationship between wattage and heat production and the fact that this is currently the most powerful console to date. You also have to keep in mind that all of this heat the 62°C is managed and produced all in one area, and it's not consistently all over the console nor its components, unlike laptops which are infamous for having poor ventilation. It's all directed and distributed towards the roof of the console as the fan is activated.

This thing is not very comparable to a laptop or even console.
They did a server like solution, and it is probably pretty darn good at pulling the heat away from the SoC due that.

But the heat has to go somewhere.

>Efficiently get the heat out of the system
>this is somehow bad

>o have t
Nigga it literally shows in the video that a last gen game was pulling 205w and it was running high temps.

Another thing to note is that these temps were taken while running last gen games.

failure to properly dissipate the heat leads to thermal throttling. if exhaust is hot heat is being dissipated effectively

No laptops run over 200W of processing power though.

Are you implying that the heat is produced by the plastic, user?

Yakuza 7 at 60FPS isn't a thing a last gen console is going to run.

>Not out of the ordinary
>Exhaust air is as hot as ps4 pro/ xbox x and the console is probably not close at all to working full load.
Enjoy your new furnace this christmas.

Okay, so you ARE stupid?
notebookcheck.net/Acer-Predator-Helios-700-Laptop-Review-Innovative-gaming-laptop-with-a-lot-of-features.434197.0.html
>The Acer notebook consumes between 98 and 307 watts under load. Again, this is above average for a gaming notebook, although the RTX 2080 competition equipped with a desktop CPU (Core i9-9900K) consumes even more.

"Gaming laptops" are designed to fail. If you buy one, you're fucking retarded.

Every single modern electronic is designed to fail, what year do you think it is?

300W peak before the inevitable throttling down =/= a consistent 200W for hours.
Careful who you call stupid, stupid.

None of these games are optimized for next gen consoles yet. All they've had is a settings update, its why sony is making a big deal with spiderman because its being rebuilt for the new hardware. They tried testing the temperature of the ssd and said it was cool yet the fucking game is running based on hdd specs.

Yet this isn't maximum load because it's running last generation games. What would wattages look under something similar to Dirt or the latest Yakuza
Exactly, I was going to mention this thanks to throttling by itself. But the point still stands.
Yeah, and as you said this was last Gen games. Look towards my first reply.

Series X has an excellent heatsink and a very efficient cooling design. The SOC is not much hotter than the heatsink, so probably 70C. Well below the threshold for overheating. PS5 is probably the same with it's liquid metal.

Yeah but don't expect the console to ever pull 300W

>300W peak before the inevitable throttling down =/= a consistent 200W for hours.
If only the review included a chart of sorts.
Something showing average wattage while gaming maybe.
God, if only!

That's so fucking wrong. I still have a 4770 mining its heart out 10 years later. TEN YEARS.

If the air is that hot it is not being dissipated effectively. Low airflow, more heat build, hotter air being pushed out and higher temps onboard.

>100
Yep. Cool site
>1400€
Damn..

I expect it to pull 260 to 270 max but in that test they ran it was definitely running too hot for something it shouldn't have been.

As long as the fan is mostly quiet.

Attached: 1599236439263.jpg (246x246, 14.35K)

m8, the 4770 released in 2013.

>using thermography to "measure" temperature and not simply identify hotspots

and this is why flir should have never released phone addons - idiots doing idiot things because they're idiots.

I also don't think it's using it's fastest fan speed either though.

I'm sorry you're so blind user, here, let me help you out.

Attached: Helios thermals.png (1113x1091, 146.24K)

PC user here who wears headphones
why are temperatures and noise even something to be considered? show us the fucking games

Anyone here has actually snuck a heat sensor at least in the Xbox Series X heatsink to measure the CPU temp?

Maybe not, but if it was a more normal room temp at like 24C I do think this SOC will be getting upwards of 80C if not more.

Exactly. There were no wattage or heat tests that I could find being done for games being built on the Series X in terms of AAA games (since they've always been benchmarks) because developers in part have only had a limited amount of time to play around in terms of optimization with dev kits before everything went under in March. Developers holding Sonys Dev kits only had about 9 months of optimization before the pandemic which is why there are seemingly no games for either console at the start of launch but is still enough to warrant the response that MS has no games. It's literally only because devs haven't had as much time with optimization with the Series X than the 5.

Some of us have standards.

I'm quite amazed at the level of damage control and shilling DF is doing for M$. Its so shameless and small brain. Especially since it's not running next gen games but current gen games and 61 degrees Celsius. By the by I'm not buying any next gen console for a while.

Oh, and since Gametrailers is dead, there's actually less destructive marketing by Microsoft for this new console. Be happy some of you gen z weren't around when they were peddling the xbone and the 360s external drive, and the kinect, and HDDVD, and no games, and so on. It takes a special kind of stupid to agree with MS vision and mission.

Cool for a 1400€ laptop running the fans at full blast
