The most common opinion i've seen involving P4G is that it's the best of the series but that P3 and P5 are also really good. I kinda agree with the sentiment, they're all good. But I only say that because i've played some truly terrible JRPG's. The worst moments of any of those 3 are fucking masterpieces in comparison, and as annoying as some of the cast that P5 has. they're perfect next to the trash Star Ocean 4 threw my way, except for Meracle, she was prime catpussy. Shame the game locked you into the most generic girl in the game.

There's more content in Royal, yes, but I wouldn't say it's particularly good content, especially the new story shit.
Yeah, the old content is still there and that's good, at least to me the new stuff really left a bad impression on me.

P4G isn't mean to be an entirely new game, it's meant to expand on what's already there and it does so very well, plus most of what you state is the same has changed including dialogs, story, gameplay and such
