There are so many ways to undo death and destruction that there are zero stakes to any of these fights. There hasn't been since as far back as King Piccolo.

yeah i hope that's not what's gonna happen even though it's the most likely scenario. getting rid of all the characters who aren't piccolo and have goku go after the super dragonballs with the people from other universes would be a lot better. vegeta can come back at the end of the next arc and pretend to do something relevant

One notable exception is the final arc of GT, which not only destroyed the dragonballs, but also followed up with a cost to using the dragonballs that would make them too risky to use again even if a new set were acquired.
