What are the essential masterpieces of this console?
Kingdom Hearts 1
The Bouncer
Idk if I trust a game with a disney setting, seems kind of childish.
thanks
FF X, Metal Gear Solid 2,3. SH2. etc etc etc etc
>etc etc etc etc
pls go on. i don't play horror games because i'm scared though.
resident evil 4... winning eleven 8.. tekken tag
Silent Hill 2 is must play. Stop being a pussy
gran turismo 3
Ace Combat 4, 5 and Zero.
I would if I could.
Oh yeah, just finish 4 and 5, pretty cool.
The better question is what to avoid. PS2 has hardly any legitimately bad games. even its licensed shovelware was fun
sheen magoomi tensay nocturne
idk, i bet most of these are garbage

is this a good introductory game to the series? i heard they are hard.
GTA 3
Devil May Cry
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Onimusha
99% of games have superior Xbox versions.
Many more were remastered to a sufficient degree (not FFX tho).
It's hard to know what constitutes a "PS2 game".
Spiderman 2
Aesthetics aside, Bouncer is shit.
Kingdom Hearts 1 is a legitimately enjoyable lighthearted adventure. 2 improves in most aspects but started to take itself too seriously. Everything after was a step down.
, and are great too, as well as and just about every SMT on the system I'm not a fan of Persona but I can understand the appeal. 4 admittedly was pretty comfy and had great music.
I'm gonna throw a bone out for Shadow of the Colossus and Xenosaga Ep3.
Let me rephrase that 99% of games WITH Xbox versions are better.
Play Darkwatch its a laggy 480i mess no matter where you go but its fuckin fun.
>Xenosaga
I heard it isn't as good as either Xenogears or Xenoblade.
there are too many to name. i think video games peaked at the PS2, there was just great game after great game being made for it. sucks how increasing graphical fidelity means so many AAA studios only put out one big game a generation these days
Ace Combat 04, 5, and Zero.
>sucks how increasing graphical fidelity means so many AAA studios only put out one big game a generation these days
The problem is that the games that do come out aren't as good as ps2 games. MGS is dead (and death stranding is shit). Rockstar never recovered its former glory. Silent Hill died and nothing replaced it. So many JRPGs simply stop existing. It's a massacre.
Playing these for the first time on PS4 and I think people have nostalgia glasses for them. The first had its moments but enemies are just damage sponges and I had to force myself through the last two worlds. Chain of Memories was incredibly boring as the only thought you have to use is in setting up your deck and then the combat is just spamming sleights (which I didn't even think of until people recommended it online since the game tells you to only use sleights in an emergency). That said some of the bosses were pretty fun but the whole game still felt like a chore and the second story where you couldn't arrange a sleight spamming deck wasn't any more fun or challenging. Currently on KHII which people said is a vast improvement but so far the combat feels the same as the first with the occasional context sensitive button press and the FOV is sickeningly wide for some reason.
I'll stick with the series though because it's not tedious 100% of the time and I like Final Fantasy and Disney
>I swear I'm not a woman
As a whole, sure.
XS1 is really slow and is starting to show it's age. Meanwhile XS2 was shafted from the beginning due to having minimal involvement from the original creators.
XS3 though is really great and as a [[[VIDEOGAME]]] is much better than XG. You can technically skip straight to it and read up on XS1+2 in the ingame encyclopedia, but ymmv with that. Either way, the OST is amazing

What's the problem with X remaster?
Thanks, that seems like a solid list.
>Disaster Report
Play this one with friends. You'll have zero regrets.
Circled ones are ones I've personally played and found not bad. Starred ones are personal favourites
>Klonoa 2
Can't believe I forgot this.
Play it OP, it's a really great platformer. Klonoa 1 on PSX is great too, but 2 is even better. Nothing about it is particularly groundbreaking, but as a whole it's one of the most soulful and enjoyable games I've ever played, and I only first found out about the series a few years ago.

>What's the problem with X remaster?
Not the user you're replying to but the faces look a lot worse. It's perfectly playable, but still a step down from the original.
MGS2 and 3 are the only worthwhile games.
Everything else is better on pic related.

Nice, thank you for taking the time, I'll save your list.
Thanks user, I'll play that.
>Not the user you're replying to but the faces look a lot worse
Oh, okay, I guess I'll skip it
Bruh, every multiplat on gamecube was compressed to shit or released on two discs thanks to the miniDVD.
