Why did VR turn out to be such an unmitigated failure?
Why did VR turn out to be such an unmitigated failure?
>Index still sold out months after release
>Quest 2 selling like hotcakes
>#1 selling game on Steam is a VR horror game
>GOTY is a VR exclusive
Cry more.
Super Mario 64 was developed alongside the Nintendo 64 hardware, and the two complement each other quite well.
What games have we gotten from VR hardware manufacturers? Alyx is the only one that comes to mind
My point is there needs to be a concerted effort to teach devs the foundations of good VR and let them take it from there
>He can't afford a VR headset
Get a fucking job you dreg.
richer than you, copefag
The equipment was expensive and never got any cheaper, lots of confusion about compatibility with games, the need for space to move around, weak game lineup with only a handful of standouts, lots of different things.
that's an awful lotta cope to avoid the reality that your gimmick is a complete failure.
You have an interesting definition of failure.
>barely anyone owns a VR headset
>no real games
>still prohibitively expensive after over 4 years
it's a failure.
>hotcakes
why do amer*cans call shit retarded names
>more popular than ever
>failure
Cope. The next few years are going to be great for VRchads
Technology ain't there yet.
the next few years will see the complete death of VR. you'll see.
You’re poor
nope
Are we back in 2016?
Buying shit for status is pure poorfag.
big cope.
nobody will give a shit about VR by 2023, mark my fucking words.
it's exhausted all it'll ever have to offer.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Do you guys think medal of honor will be good? The d-day and paradrop scenes look pretty kino, only thing that seems trash is the le resistance cliche story shit.
Lots of reasons. Bottom line is that RE7 in VR is still the most atmospheric game I've played of the last 5 years and I'll probably never have that experience again.
it'll be shit like all vr "games"
also medal of honor is a dead franchise
It's still in its infancy. A very early alpha testing phase.
Give it another 10 years and VR will be much more common. Another 20 and it will be the norm.
Your know exactly why cuz you've made this thread 400 times now and you get the same responses
Too heavy
To expensive
System reqs too high
Cordless version run out of battery too quickly
Dangling cords are a hazard if you're plugged in
No real games, only meme and gimmick games
Nausea and headaches after 20min of use
Shitty controls do every game is either standing still in one place, or you have to do a gay swimming motion to move forward 2ft at a time
The only game I'm actually waiting for.
desu VR gets pushed every 5 years or so.
We had VR headsets in the 80s and 90s. The GeForce 2 literally came with an optional VR headset that was supposed to run any directX 3 game.
>He thinks everyone we have a VR
>In this housing market
Sure, good luck convincing your 3 housemates to stop watching Netflix and get out of the living room so you can set up for a few rounds of SuperHot.
you make this thread every fucking day you schizo freak
I think you got the wrong one, bro.
>headsets are too expensive
>the cheaper occulus is fucking itself with forced facebook integration
>only a few real games designed around it like beat saber and half life alyx
It's a very expensive gimmick
Because no one actually wants AR pretending to be the mythical VR.
VR doesn't yet exist.
wait ten years it'll be good :)
>$300 is prohibitive
Biggest problem is that VR has 3 good games and a vast majority is just the same shit over and over.
Cope
Yes it does dumbass.
