How do we stop it?

Art is disposable. This was the only path for games as the industry grew.

How do we stop it?

There's no need to. It's not a viable business model.

y-yeah no reason to buy GamePass bros its so much of a good deal that microsoft isnt even making any money on it I think we just just stick to psnow bros

Sony and Nintendo will follow suit. And that's a good thing.

lmao gottem

Do you think microsoft will make stuff exclusive to game pass in the future? As long as the option to buy games outright is there you can just ignore game pass if you dont want to pay monthly. There is literally no downside to having options

unironically a great deal, can try out a ton of games without having to pull the trigger on a full price game

only unironic autist think this is a bad thing

And all the roaches come out of the woodwork, proving you right.

They could make beta shit exclusive, but I can't see them making a title Game Pass exclusive.

Yeah that's what they are going to do once people all have it, they are saving that until there are other serious competing game subs though

Yeah I dont think they would ever do that either. But I can see them doing exclusive betas, or maybe even timed exclusives on releases. I remember with gears 5 if you had gamepass ultimate you could play early, but again you still had the option to pay outright for the version that lets you play early anyways.

The downsides being games getting designed for the service and not being to own a physical copy of said games

If Gamepass actually becomes a more viable business model than selling games and other companies copy them, they will absolutely make stuff exclusive to it

Only an unironic retard thinks gamepass won't go up in price in the future.

2 years of GPU for $1 here.
I hate it. I feel like games lost their value. I download games, play them for half an hour and then delete them.

Only you can do something about that

That's just you realizing games now are soulless since you don't have any sunk cost tricking you into thinking it's not that bad.

WHY CONTAIN IT?

You can't. Remember the 2000s when people had shelves of DVDs and spinning racks of CDs? They had no other option. If you wanted home entertainment you had collections. Then came Netflix and Spotify, offering entertainment for a low monthly fee, like a utility. Changed everything. Right now gaming is where movies and music were in the early 2000s. Gamers have shelves of video game cases, some because they want to and some because they have to. Except for the digital-only people, who are the new iTunes or DIVX customers. Enter Game Pass. Same effect. Video game collections will be for the hardcore, just as Blu-Ray collections are now for people who post on forums about Blu-Ray collections. Steam will go the way of iTunes, still around but not the thing, unless it comes up with a competitor. Microsoft will have Game Pass, Sony will have PS Now, which they'll beef up when they realize they have to, and Amazon and Google will either buy publishers or drop out. And that's the way it'll be.

It’s so fucking shit. I tried it.
>over half the catalogue is pixelshit.
>you get no DLCs for any of the games and since every game in existence has 10-12 dlc’s these days, you never get to play a game in its entirety, unless you buys DLCs, but you’d have to be an immense retard to pay for DLC for games you don’t own.
>all the big triple AAA games on it are 5+ years old, except for 1 or 2
>you have no way of knowing when or what game will be added or removed. One day you can play a game you like, the next day it’s gone. Meanwhile if there’s nothing worthwhile on it in the meantime you could be waiting God knows how long for the catalogue to update.
>assuming that you do like a good chunk of the games in the catalogue, you’d have to be a disgusting waste of space NEET to find the time to actually enjoy all the games on there that you’d like to play, meaning that there’s no real value for money here unless you have no life outside of videogames.
