Cancelled Game Thread 2

Last thread was fucking great and the obscure games being brought up was great. Unfortunately reached the bump limit so hopefully this can be continued. I'll start with the Delta Green Tactical RPG that was posted near the end.
Also someone was going to dump some stuff regarding a lost Half-Life mod, hopefully that can be done here ITT

What's Delta Green?

A Tabletop RPG that's basically set in the Lovecraft Universe, but during the Cold War/Modern Era with a special task force Government Agency named Delta Green protecting the US from Lovecraftian Ayy Shit.
It was going to be made into a Tactical RPG vidya game, but unfortunately the devs dropped it in favor of a shitty Pirate MMO shovelware game.

I'm guessing they went under or just never revisited the idea?

It was assumed in the last thread that they either dropped the concept, or that the studio went bankrupt from the MMO and that it was handed off to three other studios.
There's not much info online about the studio, so I am not sure myself.

Today, I will remind them

There was an indie game under development titled The Foundation. It was a 3D RTS game about the SCP Foundation that was inspired by Xcom.

You would have been able to construct an entire base to house anomalies along with customizing units. It was going to be a massive love letter that would have featured as many SCPs as possible, even the in-universe groups the Foundation would run into.

The project was ambitious and a teaser trailer was made for it. Note the footage shown was very early in development. Essentially, it was more of a way to sorta give an idea of what to expect while building hype.

Sadly, the game's production got stalled significantly because the dev suffered from some medical issues concerning the nerves of his hands. Later when things look better, his eye got messed up or something last I checked. The dev had a Patreon they have long ago closed down, and it wasn't making much money anyway since it went under the radar of a lot of people. It was even advertised on the SCP wiki forums and Tumblr blog. Maybe even Twitter as well.

I think the game is cancelled at this point since I haven't heard any updates. The dev may have passed away for all we know.

Isn't there a chance of Platinum coming back to the property?

an oldie but goodie

Probably deserved it.

Not cancelled but a game from Mexico called Heart Forth Alicia has been in development for 5 or 6 years, it got over $200k USD from its kickstarter campaign and even got Manami Matsumae to compose the music

OP here, oh shit. I actually heard of this game and even played the janky demo that was released. There was a new Patreon report as late as 2019. But after that it completely dropped the radar. I am not sure if the disease did kill him, but I think it might have incapacitated him to the point of being unable to work on the project anymore, since one consistent thing he said is how he had nerve and eye issues.
Unfortunately, you're correct. The project is probably dead now due to his health. It's a shame too, the guy was doing some really damn good progress on the whole thing before he started having medical problems, hope he's doing well.

What are some interesting games that weren't cancelled, but were heavily changed during development? I'd like to see more of the Beta of Left 4 Dead and the Alpha builds of Dead Space.

Space Agency, a DS action RPG by the developers of Contact.

I still kek about this one, they even had a beta when Ms decided to shit hard on it

I-Ninja is a weird case, the final game looks like a typical early Gritty 2000s Western Comic Book style platformer (which to be fair, looks really soulful), but early builds (pic related) look like a colorful Wind Waker clone (with sailing as a mechanic too). Also had a radically different story too.

Another one that makes me kek

it was a clunky mess, but god damnit i needed a sequel
back then i thought this game was going to be what mass effect would become years later

There was a sequel to Darkwatch planned for the 360/PS3, they even had a tech demo for it
youtu.be/PNmrJiFzLgA

it was way too good to be true
can you imagine the final product we could have gotten? it would have been a disaster

I am still hoping it's happening

the outrageous difficulty spike in this and red faction forced me to use console commands.
still a fun game though.

Makes me wonder if they even started developing this thing or they announced it just because

>Survival Horror Wii game where you gotta waggle to stay warm

I will never not be pissed we didn’t get a sequel in book or other form.

I think I recall that he considered utlimately releasing all the code and progress he had made so far so others could finish it if something happened to him. Sadly, he didn't get around to it and all we have to go off of is his very rough demo and development videos. I do wish he is doing OK too. Really sucks that all that happened to him. I wish I was experienced enough to finish what he started. After all, SCP and all media relating to it are automatically released under Creative Commons so anyone that wants to can pick up the mantle, and finish what he started.

To further add to cancelled games, SCP is filled with cancelled fan games. Here are two more I can remember.

There was a FPS titled Horror Fantazy or something. It was about SCP and I don't know why the devs didn't put SCP in the title. The developers were Russian and I remember seeing the game listed on Steam Greenlight, which was greenlit. It was being made in the Unreal Engine and they had some good teaser footage (can be found on YouTube with other small bits of footage though titles are in Russian if I remember correctly). They were going for something like Outlast.

Anyway, after a while without updates, I tracked the devs VK page, Russian Facebook, where I found that development slowed significantly due to losing a huge chunk of the dev team. I don't remember since I used Google translate to understand the delay. I think it was put on hold indefinitely. The Steam Greenlight page is probably still up.

The second SCP game was one all about SCP-610. In fact, one can find concept art from it depicting enemy designs here and there online. The game was practically in development hell for production didn't start until a few years later. They made a website and titled the game "SCP-610: The Flesh That Hates". The website showed they had part of a level and enemy already made.

Sadly, it just dropped off the face of the web. No updates.

Back when Warframe was Dark Sector before Dark Sector was Dark Sector.

I believe I was big into Splinter Cell when I saw the trailer of Hayden Tenno walking through shadows and thinking, "Cyborg ninja stealth action? Fucking sweet."

did anyone actually wine the prize money?
i think i remember that being part of the reason they went under

Mega Man Universe was a side scrolling old school Mega Man game and would have customizable levels and building stuff like Super Mario Maker but Capcom scrapped it

Attached: Mega-Man-Universe.jpg (450x225, 22.47K)

more then that, they had microtransactions going when MS shitcanned it

they had to refund people and everything

I would say that Turok remake and Doom 2016.

Bioshock Infinite. You could see all sorts of stuff in past trailers for the game that ultimately wasn't in the finished product.

I cant find any info on the l4d beta, any sobstancial changes from the release version?
