Actually, lots of preorders get you extra stuff. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't. Yet, even then, it's better getting nothing than becoming a beta tester. People usually DON'T PAY for beta testing. I love it when mcdonalds employees pay mcdonalds to work there tho.

Sarah Baylus was the lead writer on and DOS2 before BG3, and was a writer on DOS before that, and I'm pretty sure she didn't work in game journalism beforehand.

I unironically prefer her over DoS2 narrator. Still, I don't understand why we needed one here. BG1 and 2 didn't have a narrator, why should this game have one? And specially a fucking woman, she should go to the kitchen.

I mean, I still get the full game when it comes out.

Because it makes them greedy. The early access sold REALLY good, and it's just an incomplete 1st act. Now they'll drop the ball since they got the money and rush the rest. DoS1 had an amazing engaging 1st act and then everything else was rushed.

Arriving at the big city should have been epic, but you spend 5 minutes there and then you leave, even the dwarven kingdom has more content.

They will put all the budget and color in the 1st act, so people don't refund it on the 1st hour, and then the rest will be a poorly written rushed mess.

Let alone how trashy it is to use players as beta tasters and then shame them for beta testing as a white human male.
