the Twitch DMCA bloodbath has begun, as hundreds of partnered streamers have received emails from Twitch as DMCA takedown notifications
RIP Twitch
Based. Get fucked e-celebs. Hope they mass suicude
its the viacom era of youtube all over again
video games
how hard is it to not play copyrighted content to these idiots
Broadcasting popular music is critical to most of Twitch's success, the platform is literally built around leeching from others IP.
Pretty hard when you've been sucking on the teat of the media.
Exactly.
The only enjoyable part of the site (clips) is getting taken down soon. Thots are mad their asses are getting clipped and disney just realized they can sue over clipped content. I'm guessing Livestreamfails is next.
The more retarded streamers are going to fuck this up and get their accounts permabanned, I can see this shit coming.
Plenty streamers on Twitter kvetching that Twitch should do something, kek, Twitch aren't paying your legal bills, retards, Jesus Christ streamers are retarded.
i might actually care if i watched people play video games but i play them myself instead.
based fucking music industry, purge the fuckers out. a cancer on gaming and as a society. fuck streamer e celebs and fuck zoomers who worship them.
Nobody will be able to stream GTA 6.
Good.
I'm not a stream watcher, how important is pop music to streamer success?
Finally
Imagine making something that can be replicated infinite amounts of times and then demanding to be payed for each new iteration
Good, making a living off streaming possible was a mistake.
You literally cannot stream entire games that have soundtracks owner by big record labels.
The music industry is a blight
What does it cost to license music for a streamer?
>Music volume: 0
WOW SO HARD.
Licenses for shit vary depending on the artist and what you want to do with it. They also tend to be extremely limited and one time use, and come with a variety of stipulations. It's not feasible to license, say, the GTA5 radio soundtrack because not even Rockstar can do it now.
>That one Brit on the replies defending Twitch from every post
Ahaha fucking Bongs are pathetic. They love licking the boot don't they.
>the death of twitch
not necessarily a bad thing innit
You'll literally have to obtain broadcasting licenses for each track and they'll make damn sure you pay out the ass for it.
Also interesting to note is there is no "strike" system here, if some e-whore accidentally plays something she's instagibbed from the platform, hence all the tears.
I'm with Twitch here, they shouldn't have to carry legal liability for these literal retards.
>the platform is literally built around leeching from others IP.
Are you talking about games? Because technically DMCA could cover those.
licensed music is in every big AAA game, and ofc that's where the money is for most streamers. Not only that but they use music to drown out the white noise when they don't have anything to say.
good.
Twitchthots ruined modern women and those responsible should be sold to Mexican drug cartels. Change my mind.
Kinda dumb because no one goes into a Twitch stream to listen to music.
Just change the law so you're allowed to include music in your videos DUUR.
So many problems in the world have easy solutions but people are too dumb and just whine.
Only Zig Forumseddit would support the most cancerous corporate actions because the victim is an eceleb. Just wait until mommy's internet gets disconnected by the isp because you got caught pirating games again.
