This game is fucking amazing. I'm only using two mods (give me my bottle back, and more songs for the radio). While New Vegas was much better from a roleplay, story, and atmosphere perspective, 4's gameplay more than makes up for its weakpoints. For the first time in the series, we have gunplay that actually feels good, while still feeling like an RPG more than an FPS. The weapon/armor modding is great, the SPECIAL and Perk system is great (from a gameplay perspective, I do agree that it's weaker than New Vegas from a story/RP perspective), and the settlements were a great addition if they're your thing. If you don't like settlements, you can ignore them and just not be a minuteman.

Yeah, the story and quests are far worse, but I don't think that holds Fallout 4 back as much as people think. If you're going into it expecting a good narrative with strong worldbuilding/lore, you'll probably be disappointed. If you want to make a build where your stats come up in dialogue, or find multiple ways to complete quests, you'll be disappointed. But if you're into the idea of a post apocalyptic wasteland simulator with the best gunplay the series has to offer, Fallout 4 does it great. And if you're into building/leading your own faction, it's easily the best in the series.

I really think people should realize that comparing 4 to New Vegas is an apples to oranges comparison. They each shine in their own ways. I will even say that my favourite instalment is still New Vegas, but 4 is straight up amazing in its own ways, albeit with a few glaring roleplay flaws.

is that right?

The only thing I really hated about the game was the new power armor system, besides that it was pretty fun IMO

Nah this game is literally CoD: Fallout Edition

Fallout 4 is not a roleplaying game, it's an action shooter with the Fallout title slapped on.

ok dumb dumb

The only fun part of 4 is the base building and then only if you have mods. Vanilla is garbage in both story and gameplay.

So far I did 2 runs each for Fallout 1,2, played 3, NV, and am playing 4. It’s definitely a breath of fresh air and I actually kinda prefer the power armor in 4 compared to 3 and NV because it seems to make a bit more sense than just being typical armor.

This. I only wish the power armour was rarer, though. The game showers you in it.

Nice advert faggot

Go to bed Todd

I did like flying around in power ar with the jetpack mod only fun bit

the game dropped me a legendary AK that uses 7.62 while I was still in the main game
7.62 only exists in Nuka World

conclusion: game is shit

I know this a pasta by some seething NV dilator
but FO4, and then 76, are both alarming because they show that bethesda is listening to roleplay idiots, rather than just make the overworld playground which made oblivion, FO3, and skyrim so financially successful
writing is not bethesdas strength, and even far harbor was not really as great as just having another great overworld to explore

It was kinda of annoying having to eject from the power armor to use a sitting terminal/workbench, also it really bugged me how they got rid of the special training to use one.

People are still playing, modding and arguing over NV. The same won't be said for F4 in 2025.

The gameplay starts getting pretty bad after you get a couple hours into the game because they can't balance for shit.

I HIGHLY recommend getting some Japanese power armor. You can get the Gundam mods (if they're still up on Bethesda) even if your copy isn't legit by just making an account

So mod that ammo type in the main game problem solved

Fuck yeah

Ada is so fucking cute.

I'm suddenly interested in reinstalling this game now
I wish they had armored core equivalents

Oh man AC stuff would be great, haven't checked the Nexus recently.

Bethesda know how design a good open world game, they just dont know howw to wright.

Modding to add parts to the build a bot station is really great. You can make the old TV-bots with animated wheel and everything

>Haha bro it's a fucking Zaku in Fallout 4 bro isn't that zany?
Kill yourself.

le epic mod hahaha mods fix the game therefore it is good hahah XD.

The irony.

It's Japanese power armor. I gave a ton to the Minutemen over at the fort along with tons of other armor and fixed their walls with a mod. Also gave them some suped up bots with extra bot parts from mods as well. Attacking them up there is suicide. Screenshot's from before I fixed up the place, but handed out some power armor.

There isn't a Bethesda game yet that doesn't need mods they always make strange design choices that need fixing

i actually enjoyed fallout 4. There are a few things like all dialog being voiced with voiced protag. Overall though it was pretty fun. Its too bad the base games settlement system was lame. I spent a lot of time getting my settlement stacked with defenses then found out enemies never attack if you have enough defense. i wish they worked in a story mission where your biggest settlement gets attacked by hordes of enemies or something.
