dark souls 2, obviously

I don't know, I only play good games

Demon's Souls. People view that shit with rose tinted glasses. I replayed it a few months ago and it's easily the worst Souls game.

Sekiro > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 2 > Bloodborne > Dark Souls > Demon's Souls

DS2

Dark Souls 2 is simultaneously the best RPG and worst Action game in the series

I haven't played 2 yet but I felt the same, the combat is just weak.

I just emulated it a month ago and it holds up great. I can play it at any time and always have a good time. I can’t stand dark souls 2 at all.

I feel like you're giving DeS a bad wrap. Try it again with an open mind. Mine is similar to yours but DeS is at the front.

DeS > DkS3 > DkS2 > DkS > BB

Ds2 somehow managed to suck on everything.

Love DS2, don't love DeS.

Kys ds2 faggot nigger waste of oxygen

Hard to say, they're my top 2 Souls games.

DeS has aged very poorly. Go replay it and remember 40% of the game is really bad. 1-3, 3-2, and 4-1 carry the whole game.

Even Code Vein is better than Dark Souls 2 lmoa

not alone user I played it a couple of months back and didn't see what the big deal was

Demon's Souls is immensely overrated, but nostalgiafag s0nyggers will defend this game to the death. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game with many strengths, but it's also a product of its time, which is to say that it suffers from design flaws and imperfections that demand to be acknowledged. Dark Souls II is a better game in a technical sense, but I'd still rather play Demon's Souls because, as a whole, it's a more enjoyable experience.

there is shit I don't like in demon souls, but overall I enjoyed it far more than dark souls 1-3

If I had to explain, the difficulty ramp felt fair and well balanced in demon, but darksouls lets you FAR to easily hit a high level area and die on a first go, that just never really felt fair to me, something demon souls was well known for was the fairness of the deaths.

Love how DS2 has to be compared to a game that's five years older for any kudos. And even then, DeS shits on that clusterfuck DS2.

DeS = BB > DS1 > DS3 > DS2 > Sekiro

DeS has best atmosphere and is solid in its own right. It pioneered the genre and is easily better than DS2

weird how people are saying des aged poorly when i only feel that way about ds1

I dropped Demons souls because I’m bad at it, meanwhile I have probably more than 100 hours in DAS2

Considering DAS2 has Black Gulch and No Mans Wharf, Id say DeS is better

Ds1=Sekiro>Demon's>BB>Ds2>powergap>Ds3
Sekiro is the best of the fast action games and Ds1 is the best of the slow adventure games.

no man's wharf is great pleb

>there is shit I don't like in demon souls
what don't you like about demon's souls?
>the difficulty ramp felt fair and well balanced in demon, but darksouls lets you FAR to easily hit a high level area and die on a first go, that just never really felt fair to me
interesting perspective, I always thought all of these games are pretty fair in terms of what you're expected to face at any given point in the game, although I see your point about dark souls 1 at least, given that you can wander into the catacombs or blighttown as soon as you arrive in lordran. the reason I don't think this is a huge issue because the onus is on the player to determine what they're prepared to face, and I think the game goes out of its way to adequately warn the player ahead of time about the dangers that lurk ahead. if the player wants to proceed, at the very least they can't say that they weren't warned. a perfect example of this is the skeletons in the small cemetery just outside of firelink shrine that leads to the catacombs. these enemies are much more aggressive than the undead soldiers found near the aqueduct, and they deal a lot more damage. they tend to overwhelm the player in groups as well, and there's even a giant skeleton near the zweihander that spawns and will kick your shit in if you're not prepared or don't know to deal with him. there are other examples of this, but the point is that if the pensive and wary player doesn't take this as a hint to go elsewhere, then they deserve all the punishment they get.

Well if they demand to be acknowledged, what are they

In reality, its middle of the road.

Its been years so let me think... I believe that the best way to play the game was 1-1 then 1-2 then skip that to go to another world because 1-3 would push your shit in, that kind of level design that gives you 'everything' up front, I do think its better then dark souls if only because its kind of laid out for you where you will get fucked, within the first few minutes. dark souls it's entirely possible for a new player to go the wrong way and keep going that way because they know the game is suppose to be hard.

On that skeleton part, I didn't get the game till after it was out for a while so I knew, and I went down there on purpose, the one thing I love about souls style games is they are fair outside of bosses, I killed those enemies with little issue, it took awhile but little issue.

The bosses though, I think, and its been years so correct me if i'm wrong, but I didn't run into a boss that killed me in demon till the 4th or 5th one I fought, but dark souls the second boss you face that you are expected to beat is a 2 boss one fight even on the right path the difficulty kind of spikes from a 2 to a 10 while demon felt like a smooth 4 with spikes to 7 here and there

DeS by far

>I believe that the best way to play the game was 1-1 then 1-2 then skip that to go to another world because 1-3 would push your shit in, that kind of level design that gives you 'everything' up front, I do think its better then dark souls if only because its kind of laid out for you where you will get fucked, within the first few minutes.
after tower knight is defeated, you have no choice but to leave and go to another archstone because the way to 1-3 is blocked by grey fog. you can go to any other archstone and progress through it to the end, and then you can come back and go to 1-3, but you'll most likely get your shit kicked in unless you're around level 40 or you know how to handle the enemies there.

it seems to me that world tendency has more influence on how hard or easy the game will be than this predetermined structure. since players can actively control their world tendency by killing themselves in the nexus and by remaining in soul form, it's easy to hypothesize that most players would only ever go through the game on easy mode (pure white tendency), then come back once everything is unlocked to go through a level with pure black tendency just to get all the things they missed. there's no incentive for players to avoid doing this so there isn't a consistent level of difficulty throughout the game. contrast that with later entries that handle difficulty in a sort of traditional MMO way, wherein there is an implicit assumption that players will be at a certain level before even being in certain areas of the game, and it's easy to come to the conclusion that the difficulty spikes are more naturally baked into the world, which makes for a more consistent experience, while also allowing more experienced or skilled players to travel to later areas of the game at their discretion.

Demon's is the best in the series, so obviously Dark Souls 2.

Dark Souls 2 by a large margin
