Devolver just bought Croteam

Devolver just bought Croteam.
What do we thing about this?

eceleb board when

Devolver and Croteam are game companies tho

People are more likely to recognize and enter the thread for the picture of Ross than for anything about Devolver or Croteam.

Means Serious Sam 4 is seriously underperforming in sales.
I guess they waited to see if the game sells, saw it won't, and sold. Sad!

Kinda offtopic but "Devolver" means "throw up" in Spanish...
So yeah, btw I don't care what your Amerimutts News says. I'm still white.

I have literally no idea who the guy in the op is other than some guy with Serious Sam shirt

I have no strong feelings one way or the other.

I was looking for my pic with serious sam saying "are you serious" with glitter around him.
But I found Ross first so I posted him.
I wanted to talk about the buying out, not moldman.

doesn't affect my life

based.

>But I found Ross first so I posted him.
That was a mistake. Now people will be talking about moldman instead.

Off the top of my head, lets see how many Devolver Digital games I can list.... Fall Guys, Serious Sam, Shadow Warrior, Hotline Miami, Enter the Gungeon, Absolver, Ruiner. Yeah, a few. I think they are relevant enough.

YO IS THAT A WALKING PIECE OF MOLD?

guess we can expect the shitty cutscenes and dialogue to stay in next game

Carrion too.

Obsessed

Their only good game since HD was thalos.
It's good that they're getting better management.

This is Video Games.

I guess SS4 was a real failure and this was their last resort.

e-celeb culture is not video game culture.

I thought they were already together?

i dont really like the way that people associate devolver with games they publish. it takes away from the actual dev teams who barely get recognized lol

If SS4 was a real failure I don't think Devolver would want to buy them.

There's no eceleb anything here. Its a Serious Sam shirt in OP image, Serious Sam news in the OP text, and Serious Video Game discussion under that.
You are the only NOT VIDEO GAMES poster in the thread, and honestly should fuck off.

>Devolver Digital
Gay and fail

Only thing I care about is Talos Principle 2 being confirmed as still happening

If developers want to get recognized then they should self-publish their work.

I blame Devolver for 4 tanking. Making those interviews your only means of advertising the game was clearly not effective after the first few.

user, you must understand. If I don't like it, its not videogames. That is how Zig Forums works. Doesnt matter if its vidya or vidya culture.

I blame Croteam for releasing a hunk of shit after 6 years of work.

You buy when the price is low. SS4 was weak.

hopefully they get enough money to make games not look like absolute shit.

>Your opinion doesn't matter
Actually this is how Zig Forums works

No one is talking about ecelebs but you.

All parties were responsible for this.
We only learned about stuff like the skill tree, enemy riding, the melee, etc. through the fucking reviewer kit that people more or less stumbled upon by accident while the fucking Legion System that's barely in the game got sucked off in almost every interview, for some reason they sent out completely broken review copies that gave people a horrible first impression and their PR dude kept acting like a total asshat when people were concerned about the lack of communication and the state of the game in the videos.

I always thought Devolver was a subsidiary of Croteam for some reason

I think this is bad.
Serious Sam isn't a yearly franchise, but I think Devolver will try to make it one.

The fact they got bought at all must speak volumes to how poorly Serious Sam 4 did.

Croteam CEO fucked off to Stadia.

I thought they were already a part of Devolver.
As a spic grandchild of a Croatian inmigrant I've always felt some love for that particular part of the world. Looks pretty in pics. Then again, so does my poopsock (Chile) but it's a broken nation full of commie brown creaturas.
I really wanna get out of here, but wife won't let me. Maybe I should drop the wife too.

This. Devolver clearly dropped the ball but Croteam didn't pick it up either. I'm not even sure exactly what Devolver does. It's not like their marketing is ever that expansive, they already rely heavily on word of mouth.

SS4 was embarrassing and made it clear they needed better management

>CEO
It was their CTO.
Their CEO is rumored to be the reason that he left.

It doubt they'll force it to be a yearly game. This is way to janky a series to survive a yearly release. They'll likely just keep doing what they already do and license the character of Sam everywhere they can.
