This game is one of the biggest, if not the biggest example that if you try to appeal to everyone, your game will turn into garbage

In the end this game turned out to be a broken mess with no soul or direction, trying to appeal to everyone while fucking itself up more and more and coming out to be this bland soulles pile of shit constantly changing (often for the worse).
Compare it to the development of The Witcher 3. You can undeniably feel that with The Witcher 3, the devs had a clear vision of the game from the very beginning, they knew exactly how it was supposed to look and feel, and they had a clear goal of achieving that vision, not giving a fuck about anyone or anything.
