Not a single of the 20 or so people attached to Versus in 2010 was ever credited as being on 14 2.0 or said they worked on it regardless, and crystal tools was a finished engine in 2010 and they even made Ebony in 2010 just for Versus, it was Nomura's fault that Versus never got anywhere for constantly changing the scope of the game. Nomura had a full team, he had resources, he is the one who kept changing the scope of the game and feature creeping it, for fuck sakes none of ferraris characters even were created until 2010 and 2011 after ferrari only joined in 2010, they had fuck all done on versus because nomura was and still is a hack director.

The scenario & script for Versus was finished in June of 2010 and Ferrari's designs were created for characters that already existed in the story.
The point at which the story points became more fluid was AFTER it was decided that Versus would be transitioned into a mainline title in 2012, and surprise surprise, that's when Tabata joined the team.
