I started playing it, it's more fun than I expected. I don't know if I'm ready to stop bathing though to really step up my game.
Destroying scrubs with Mario is a forbidden pleasure. People instaquitting after getting killed off of one opening by a mid tier just hurts their souls, I can tell.
I wish Nintendo weren't such cunts about PM. That or a modded Melee that tweaked the lower tier characters to work properly and added a few more competitive stages would be the coolest shit to see.
Cool but I still can't say I like actually playing Melee
I take showers daily.
>UCF becoming the norm
>Now static Pokemon Stadium will likely become norm offline after covid
You guys aren't even playing melee at this point, you're playing a bastardization of it. May as well also rebalance the characters since the community is taking it upon themselves to "fix" the game that you guys claim is perfect. Hope Nintendo uses the mods as an excuse to crush the smelee scene underfoot like they did with Project M.
I kinda wish Melee had 3-4 more viable top tier. I can't find a character i can enjoy without at least 1 lopsided matchup. While i love PM/P+ it has too many annoying and too many viable characters.
I don’t think it’s entirely fair to call it a bastardization with the things you mentioned. Nothing fundamentally has changed in the game, UCF simply lowers the barrier of entry. Frozen Stadium is also just a consequence of Slippi not handling the transformations well, it’s not a change the community willingly made.
>it’s not a change the community willingly made.
It doesn't matter since stage transformations were always a point of contention over the years and now that Melee players have actually been exposed to the static variant there's going to be a push for it to be the new standard. Some are proposing static PS as a starter and moving FD to counterpick.
It's called SD Remix and it's playable on slippi rollback too.
I'm curious as to why it's suddenly a bastardization of melee now and not when all but 6 stages were banned. Surely tournament rules have never been pure.
Imagine sperging out because your counterpick doesn't randomly turn into a shitfest every 30 seconds. There's no difference between changing stages and banning them.
Because none of that actually involved modding the game, but now that pretty much all major events have picked up UCF we've opened the flood gates for more modding.
What platinum age?? Even with rollback the streaming numbers are abysmal compared to offline ones, still nobody sponsor Melee players outside of the top 10-15, do you actually know what a platinum age means??? Because people playing for 10k isnt sucess.
I love to see it. Melee will live eternally and its status as the best Smash game can't be denied.
Which is great
>the streaming numbers are abysmal compared to offline ones
Viewership for smash is always low when there's no tourney in progress
>Nobody sponsors melee
Blame Nintendo for making it difficult for third parties to actually put money into melee. But it's hardly as if most of the money comes from prize pools and sponsors instead of just twitch.
>there's going to be a push for it to be the new standard.
Then it’s just conjecture at this point. It’s not realistic to expect it to become standard regardless. Majors and supermajors can’t even run with stealth modifications like UCF in place because of Nintendo, there’s no chance something like frozen Stadium will ever see the big stage.
Meleebros...
How well Melee modding scene been? Is it on the same level as PM, actually adding new fighters?
My thumbs hurt so I have to take a break
Yeah but it'll never have a lively scene around it.
Melee Modding isn't as easy as Brawl, so there are no new characters yet. Progress has been made with custom models and animations though so it might be possible in the future.
What majors besides genesis don't use UCF at this point?
Can't wait for the day when Nintendo finally caves and releases Melee HD, only for it to be barebones low effort shit like their Mario and Zelda ""remakes"", complete with enormously high input lag and archaic delay-based online. Then all the Nintendo cocksuckers who cry about how "MELEE PLAYERS WILL ONLY PLAY 1:1 MELEE" will act like that vindicates them.
Shine, Big House, Super Smash Con, and CEO were ran without UCF last year, they used arduinos.
By getting a good GC adapter for my pc and a decent controler.
>you guys claim is perfect
NO ONE do this but Ultimate players though.
>want to buy a new gcn controller
>have to dish out 50 bucks or more
Those Panda Global controllers better be good and affordable once those come out.
>Doesn't have a sword
>Doesn't have flame choke
Ultimate is better.
ok bottomtier trash
>Implying Ganon isn't bottom tier in melee too
but hey tell me about how n0ne dicking around on netplay against signficantly worse players means he's actually viable
Not bathing only works on real life tournaments, so you don't need to worry about it until in person tournaments come back
>no 4 player
*yawn*
