Its your fault for being naive enough to believe big business talk. it can technically run 4k, but they bounce around and don't give any straight answers all the time. It happens with every major console release, and it will keep happening ad infinitum.
Console gaming ends up costing far more in its lifetime then a more expensive PC anyway. Not to mention some games are simply unplayable with a controller. That is only in part true due to the limits and uniformity of consoles, they spend far longer optimizing because any kind of slowdown is (usually) unacceptable, and lowering graphics setting manually would make no sense on a console.

I'll never understand this obsession over 4K. It requires tremendous amount of power to render a 4K image, 60 times per second, with the graphical complexity of something like God of War. I just find people complaining about this completely ridiculous. Both Sony and MS are are too falt here too because of their constant advertisements about 4K. The next step should have been 1440p 60FPS with little to no compromise on graphics.
