I can literally sell my Xbox One and replace it with a Series X and still play 99.9% of my Xbox One games on the new system (minus Kinect titles but who fucking cares about those.)
This is probably the first time since the PS2 that I've been able to essentially completely replace a whole console with the new one and not lose out on any of my old games.
But unlike the PS2, the SeX will improve my old games as well. Better framerates, better reolutions and auto HDR.
What the fuck does PS5 have? Select PS4 games? PS now? PS2 Classics? Thats pathetic, honestly.
Imagine being a snoy and your favorite corporation making you lug around 20+ year old hardware if you want to play your older games, or pay $70 for a remaster.

this is honestly the feature I'm most excited for. so many good games especially for me since I skipped out on last gen. I know most games are for PC too but there is something nice about just having a console to boot up and play and the price value is insane for Series X.

Xbox Backwards Compatibility is one of the best features of the Xbox. The PlayStation 5 will have 1 God Tier exclusive, the Xbox Series X will have 2 God Tier exclusives. Xbox Series X is the superior gaming console in my opinion.
Just lacking exclusives and quite a few games this last gen, that being said, it does seem good and there are some games that look interesting.
Everwild doesn't have any gameplay trailer but the world and art style seem charming as fuck and feel like a possible return to Rare's glory days, if that's true, then that will be one hell of an exclusive for Xbox Series.
But even without exclusives and some games, the Xbox Series X seems amazing and i have pre-ordered one, just think it's not perfect yet.
Also, way to make me feel sad that Microsoft didn't pay Tecmo to make a new Ninja Gaiden game.

I have no reason to upgrade to SeX from my Xbone X yet because Microsoft isn't looking to expand on the lists of backwards compatible games yet. I only care about OG Xbox and 360 BC. The Xbone had no exclusives for me that I care about (the ones I was waiting for all turned out to be fucking duds) and SeX doesn't even have any games of its own worth upgrading for at launch or in the near future. Microsoft is going hard on the BC for SeX but it looks like they're only focusing on getting the current lists of games working, not getting new ones. SeX is still not a suitable replacement for OG Xbone or a 360, I still have to have those consoles on hand to play certain games. God damn it. Give me 4K Steel Battalion you fucks.

All non-kinect Xbox One games are backwards compatible. And any 360 and OG Xbox games that are already backwards compatible on Xbox One are also on Xbox Series X. They will start adding more after release as well.

Only a select number of 360 games are backwards compatible. Same with OG Xbox. Xbone is fully backwards compatible with the exception of Kinect games. The games that are backwards compatible are the same ones that are backwards compatible for Xbone. They have not mentioned when they are going to go back to adding new games to the list so as of now an Xbone X and SeX can play the same games.

I mean, it really is impressive how much effort Microsoft has put into their backwards compatibility technology. It is unparalleled, and the enhancements that have been made to certain games are amazing. But the fact of the matter is that there hasn't been a single good exclusive on a Microsoft console since 2005. I personally have no interest in Xbox 360 or Xbone exclusives, and the overwhelming majority of multiplats from those generations are also on PC if I want to play them. Having the world's greatest backwards compatibility doesn't matter if there's no good exclusives to play across three generations.

I see the Xbox as a cheaper PC for those who don't like strategy games.
The games will always run the same and they are never in the lowest settings that games would be on PC, they are there for people who don't have the money for a good PC nor want to make one.

Microsoft only has some exclusives coming in but i swear they aren't advertising them, really, Rare is doing a new game, and it's finally a new IP and it's a big adventure platformer game, from the guys behind Conker and Banjo.
It's called Everwild and Microsoft has, as far as i can tell, done ZERO to promote it aside from releasing some trailers here and there.
Or the new Fable and Project:Mara, or The Falconeer(basically Lair with better controls) and such, a lot of people pratically don't know they exist.
Honestly, with as much money as Microsoft has, i wonder why they don't advertise their exclusives more, anyways, there are always rumors of Bethesda exclusive games for Xbox but i doubt it because Microsoft would make more money selling the games to everything.
