>That's the stuff digimons are made of

So.... spelunkey?

Does Mayan mythology counts?

For real though. It feels like greek and norse shit has been spammed forever and ever.

There was a time period a few years after Cortez conquered Tenochtitlan where you had Spanish Conquistadors, still living Aztec Jaguar warriors, Carribean privateers/pirates, and Japanese Samurai all in Latin America and even crossing paths.

I want a Left 4 Dead/Vermintide style game where the cessation of tributes to the Gods begins the end of the world an an aging Jaguar warrior leads an escaped slave turned pirate, a rowdy drunk Spanish soldier, and a cocky young noble Japanese man on a quest to find his priest brother who fled into the wilds to escape persecution so that they can try avert disaster as monsters and Gods wreak havoc. Just load it up with gorgeous Mesoamerican architecture and vistas, good quality banter amongst the party with lots of digs against eachother based on cultural rivalries that gives way to genuine camraderie, and make the melee combat satisfying.

But I know I will never get it.

i wonder how sensitive people of meso or aztec descent would be if their culture got popularized to the likes of Greek mythos.
They probably wouldn't give a shit, but I do wonder about it.

Aztecs were a bunch of furries and Cortez did nothing wrong

I read that Aztecs practiced different forms of ritual sacrifice depending on the God they were worshipping.

trying to make a game based on mayan culture but so far I suck at it.

Depends on the group. Ethnicity is 'complicated' in LatAm where a lot of people with mixed heritage disdain or take pride in their native roots but actual, mostly full-blooded natives get discriminated against at an institutional level. Like you'll see the Mexican government making reference to the cultural heritage of the nation through art, iconography, naming of awards, etc. and then they'll not give a shit if some group asks fpr funding to preserve a native language or provide restitution for stolen cultural artifacts.

I'd say a lot of half castes would be enthusiastic so long as it was done well but native groups might bitch and moan about their customs getting mistreated or how the majority are fine exploiting them for fiction but refuse to do shit about the poverty that colonialism has left them in.

It would be very brutal
Violence, conquering, sacrifice, and bloodshed make great themes for actiony video games
especially were you play as on of the subjugated peoples under the aztecs as you lead a revolt or or you play as a powerful warrior of the azetecs as you slaughter rebels fight evil spirits and entities and deal with political betrayals and ect. maybe the end of the game hints at the spanish arriving

that would be badass

Your right man we need a game about Spanish conquistadors civilizing those savages

Sounds cool, I'd play it even if it was turn-based tactics in Unity

>samurai and Jaguars.

Huh. That's actually pretty cool, theres actually quite a hidden history of Samaroo in Mexico. Including actual Ronin who were overseas when Tokugawa came to power and were shut out of the country; apparently many emigrated to Mexico and the viceroy there let them keep their arms and serve in the military.

I guess the Mexican propensity for Weebishness has a real root in genetics.

I'm sure they wouldn't care, but SJW would be triggered on their behalf. You can interpret European mythology any way you want, down to changing the race and gender or mythological figures, but God forbid you try the same thing with any mythology from outside Europe.

There is one though

>nobody mentions aztez

Scary thing is it actually exists you realize and its not your friend.

Looks like the plot of a kouta hirano manga.

Yes we need this shit
