There are dudes in power armor called marines, prissy technologically advanced aliens, and space bugs, even though the Terrans don't behave anything like the Imperium and there's very little in common between the Protoss and the Eldar. I'll say the Zerg cut it a little close, though.

It's actually draws mostly from Starship Troopers, Predator and Alien. 40k also ripped most of it's ideas from those franchises.
You're thinking of Warcraft. It was originally meant to be a Warhammer game, but they lost the license late in development or something and had to come up with the new lore on the spot.
