There were two huge issues with the non-gameplay aspects of the game that I was able to overcome easily with three mods.
>Start Me Up (Alternate Start) removes all lines related to you being a parent searching for their child.
>Full Dialogue Interface allows you to see what you say before you say it.
>Language Lover allows you to pick an alternate language voice pack and apply it only to your character. This way, you don't have to read a dialogue line to choose to say, then have to sit there and hear it in English. These are the Bethesda-recorded voice actors, not random modders. Fun for roleplaying.
