Rare enemy but still annoying. You can stun lock it with the shotgun grenade, then land a hit or two right after. It's more efficient than the Super Shotgun which is the weapon you first fight one with, because the ghost wolves disappear with a single shot and the Super Shotgun wastes ammo.

He is a very good addition to a roster of enemies that lacks variety, as you can kill everybody else using the same approach. The key to beat him is movement which is fitting for a fast paced fps game.

True. Yet everyone has a different approach to big-scale combats. I like to use the microwave gadget to quickly kill the Barons or Tyrants for instance.
More on so OP stops seething. The Super Shotgun looks like the best option because it's a one hit/heavy damage weapon, seemingly appropriate for a small trigger timeframe, but using the regular shotgun to cheaply get rid of the wolves and stun-locking the Marauder to interrupt its fast moveset proves to be more efficient.

its a meme. The enemy has small vulnerability windows you have to take advantage of to stagger him to extend the vulnerability window to kill him in any decent amount of time

He has a few ways to take him down but that's not his issue. He's just incredibly overstated.

If there's enemies around him, it's likely going to be fodder you can just heavy rifle/etc. for easy glory kill health.

Enemies around are always zombies to use the chainsaw on. Don't kill them but keep them alive. The Marauder takes quite a lot of ammo to kill.

ballista/SS nearly grantee a stagger, weapon swap to hit him with both of them a few times. Throw in a grenade and you can hit him a few more times

I don't hate him, but I'm not too thrilled with how they handled his AI. Aside from that the base game is amazing and probably the best fps of this console generation at least. Also I discovered you can instantly stagger a Pain Elemental by shooting a lost soul back into his mouth.

Okay I see it now: stagger then quick switch. Clever because I found the regular shotgun to be a bit weak and taking too much time. Thanks. It's actually far easier than using the Super Shotgun, this one just drains ammo like fuck, I only use this one in platform-heavy areas.
Sometimes a couple of seconds is enough to loose a life. Since you dash around so much with the Marauder it's better just not to aim at them.

I ate shit a bunch until I realised that the makyrs basically let you have infinite ammo if you can reliably head shot them, and the ballista does both that and staggers the marauder. Felt good figuring it out
