The problem with nu pokemon is that the core gameplay is still the same as it used to be, it's still very enjoyable but they try to make it "deeper" by adding stupid gimmicks (z moves, mega evolution, dynamax ...) instead of actually try to expand the gameplay from the core.
On top of that they do absolutely no effort in the presentation of the game, it's very ugly and honestly inexcusable for such a large company to releases products that are consistantly visual turds, even without comparing them to the competition.
