What are you on about? My 1070 carried me through this gen at 1440p 144fps. Even Monster Hunter World with mods runs above 60fsp consistently on max settings.

it doesn't matter if a port is unoptimised if every port is going to be unoptimised, for the purposes of gpu power. sure, a card could theoretically hit a certain level but its real capabilities should only be measured by what it actually puts on the screen in a real game.

I mean, there is more, but the point is there are plenty of third parties that stay on console. PC does eventually get most 3rd party games though, however, they don't get all of them. There are also many timed console exclusives. Sorry, but I don't want to wait a year+ to pay 60 + tip for FF7 Remake 2, when I can just get it physical/used for 50% MSRP a month after launch- and the best part is that will get me a real, physical copy, rather than a steam "license".

Very poorly. The reason why BotW emulates well is because that is emulating the Wii U version, not the Switch version.

Literally worse than Xbox's backwards compatibility. Getting any game from before 2011 to run on modern hardware and operating systems is a nightmare, and filled with errors and troubleshooting, and it gets worse the older the game is. You have to install multiple mods just to get some games to run, and then deal with mod compatibility issues just to get any HD resolution when dealing with games from the ps2 era or older. Look at the difference between Xbox back compat for a game like Kotor 1, and then trying to get Kotor 1 to run anywhere near that on a current PC. It's insane.

My graphics card is only a couple years old. I'm not fanatical about graphics so I don't even mind playing at 720. The benefits from sales, modding, and emulating, as well as just having a PC to use whatever I want, far outweigh anything consoles can offer aside from just straight up exclusives.
