Doom Eternal DLC

Holy shit possessed demons are so fucking annoying on nightmare

I went through HMP never realizing I was using the wrong mod to zap spirits. Every fight with them was a two to three round affair as a result.

Every encounter feels like a slayer gate. Now I got to the first slayer gate. 100% filtered, might need to drop difficulty to UV

The only things I really hate are that they can't be CC'd and you have to stop moving for an extended period to zap them. If it only took like 1-2 seconds I could understand, but it feels like it takes 5 full seconds. That's utter bullshit on a game as fast as D:E.

And that’s a good thing.

They're only annoying because I can barely fucking move while I'm zapping them. Otherwise they're kind of exciting to kite and beat down.

why does this game give off so much söy vibe despite it trying so hard to try to be cool

Because it is trying hard to be cool. Old doom was not trying hard to be cool, even if it had some details that were intentionally there to look cool.
Old doom: normal marine
New doom: god's favorite being, satan is just a clone of him, some sort of god... etc

Fair enough. Popping off a grenade or ice bomb can sometimes help deal with other enemies, when you’re using the beam to fry the Summoner ghosts, but moving at the pace of a snail is still a huge handicap.

>normal marine
He single handedly fought off a base full of demons, dies, wakes up on another base in Hell, kills everything there until Hell makes a teleporter for him to leave, fights off a demonic invasion on earth, saves the remaining humans, and destroys the leader of the demons.
Where do you people get this idea that Doomguy is just a normal marine?

The double Marauder fight was pretty cool. Fuck that floating eye cube boss though.

Soon

He's a normal marine who was jacking off when the demons first showed up. Why do you want to understate his achievements by making him 'EPIC BADASS GOD, STRONGER THAN YVWH, IS MADE OF ANGER' when he was always just supposed to be a normal guy? the same is true of the Ranger.

>Bro, Doom Slayer but EVIL!

you think you couldn't do that as well? get a load of this faggot

I finished this on nightmare with a trackball

the dlc is ok but I wish they would just drop it and add in snapmap. Not having snapmap was a mistake

theres a different appeal to normal guy like james bond and superman

>lazy ass recolors

Throw frost grenade when you start doing your ghostbuster stuff

What is character progression? Do you really think he’d stay at the same level of strength after he locks himself in Hell at the end of 64? Also, how does him eventually getting stronger latter in the series understate what he did in the beginning?

That’s an awful idea.

>Why do you want to understate his achievements
Nigga his previous achievements aren't going anywhere. He as already the biggest chad among Night Sentinels when he got zapped by spehss magic machine. He just got well-deserved levelup to wreck shit on even bigger scale.

I'd rather play a well-made DLC than dig through countless turds for hours to find a map worth playing.

Why didn’t the Demons invade Australia?

Because Australia is already hell

They also lost a war to emus.

>Madagascar is safe

>korea is obliterated
>japan is untouched

I agree fundamentally, but old Doom tried its hardest to be cool too; the only difference is that it succeeded. That might be because the team that made were actual legit fucking nerds.

I like to think the only thing he got in the power up machine was the ability to get health back by punching things, ability to chainsaw things for ammo and dashing I guess. I mean he still dies quickly so he's clearly not immortal or anything, and being some dude was enough in the regular doom but with everything taking a million shots to kill I guess the upgrades are necessary

I'm assuming they fought them off, like argonia during the oblivion crisis

That or they did spawn in the middle of the desert and noone noticed except one farmer guy

Australians made a truce with the emus and thus were able to beat the demons.
