So how much does my alignment actually matter? I like the options NE gives me but I don't know if it actually does anything.

I turn off alignment dialogue restrictions, it can completely change outcomes of quests and character interactions. I prefer to roleplay how my character would act rather than be constricted by a solid "no you can't say that" barrier

How would you rate Wrath's companions thus far, anons?

Hope they don't fill the game with annoying strong women and shit like that.

There's wiggle room in your alignment. Strictly adhering to it is a stupid way to play.

It's more the mythic paths themselves which matter dialogue-wise for Wrath, but alignments are what decides which ones you're allowed to go for

They need to make sure there is always a mythic path available for one alignment or another, and one step rules lets Liches be LN, it's the TN that is silly for them

Is it going to have non-retarded quest journal entries and a fetish for entire chapters full of blurred up enemies that start invisible and give you permanent stat damage?
I have like 300 hours in kingmaker but the little taste of baldur's gate 3 made me realize how unfun pathfinder is for huge sections.

Im afraid of one thing in particular - that making fully custom party will be problematic again. In first Kingmaker I had to endure harder game beginning because customs I could hire were always level behind due to mechanic and I still had to plan out to have enough money to hire them AND they had lower stats than they should. But they were still superior to any premade ones because that's how thing always are in rpgs. Shitty "companions" still had to take place in team at some points because hurr durr, no best ending for you if you don't take completely useless shit character to dungeon with you. Or take useless bard to festival and to next city. Or other cases. Oh and I hope you are ready to reload several times and buff your barbarian girl to stratosphere to have her beat the bad guy because she is that useless. Like that fighter girl too, definition of being useless. And let's not forget about how much annoying they all are, especially that arcane trickster slut, ready to jump into my character pants. Normally I would slaughter them all but they were required for kingdom part. Luckily I could dump them after that into dumpster, where they belong. AND WHY THEY WONT SHUT UP DURING GAME HOLY SHIT. EVEN RESTING WAS NOT SAFE.

Fuck premade "companions". I hate them all.

There are 3 different ways to lower the DC for Armag's tomb. The scouts, searching the library and boatman. Drops it each time. It takes spectacular fuck-ups to fail

Pray you pass the boatman check and he'll flat out tell you where it is iirc

I remember how at some points I had to consult guides for hidden passages location and their DC only to repeat roll via loading save SEVERAL TIMES because when my ranger had skill with bonuses at 28 and DC was 30, she failed it several times in row. Devs clearly rigged rolls for players to have them roll 1 in 50% of cases.

A few misconceptions:
1) Mercs do not start a level lower. They start the same level as you, but always zero progress to the next one.
So if you are level 3 and 500 xp towards level 4, the merc you hire will be lv 3 with 0 xp progress towards level 4.
2) Mercs have lower point buy, and you can build the mbeteer than some companions, but Octavia, Linzi, Jubi, Jubi are built near optimally, and Ekun/Nok-Nok are better than most attempts you can make at a similar build.
3)You do not need companions for any kind of ending. They die if you do not do their quests, but if you did not care about them, what matters? The actual varied endings (Let Nyrissa Drink the Apology, Give The crown, Defeat Lantern Boy or Kill him with Nyrissa romance) happen regardless fo what you do with your companions.
4) While buff stacking is very effective, Amiri and Valerie are perfect;ly viable, even up to unfair. Only you should probably pay attention on their build instead of letting them auto-level up.
Anyway, merc recruitment and companion presence will be largely similar in Wrath, so I guess you should avoid it lest you be filtered like the scrub you are again

My barbarian rolled a 1 on the boatman check before I even knew what it was about, and the library apparently didn't bring the dc low enough for my character with max perception and a wisdom potion to spot it. I suppose you can't ask them to not punish you for shit rolls but it was still frustrating as hell.

Mercs cost was viable only on very first level so in order to be able to actually make custom party, players HAD to postpone leveling up BUT still ended level ahead, as well as cumpanions. Who are not optimal at all, most have absolutely garbage stats and classes, with some sole exception like that black guy. Octavia in particular, even when I selected all level ups myself, was performing few times worse than any of my custom characters. This apply to everyone else - my optimal customs were so much better than those shitheads that I was still rolling with 4 customs, essentially 4 party members. Only had to endure stench and talk of premades.

Nymph ending require at least bullshit with Shitstan boy since any other way to pass check later (other than having him with you at cyclop tomb) is to fucking romance him. Which is disgusting no matter what. Sure, they are not needed otherwise but if you want to 100% game, they are. And sadly, their personal quests are not always like "get idiot with you to optional location, do shit, dump him or her".

I build them myself, not auto leveled. Which is required since their stats selection and classes are low tier anyway.
