eurogamer.net/articles/2020-10-22-ea-faces-class-action-lawsuit-over-loot-boxes-in-canada >The Patch Notes explains that because this is a class action, everyone in Canada who has bought loot boxes from EA since 2008 is covered by the suit, and the filing comes with a list of over 60 titles including EA's sports franchises, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Battlefield, Apex Legends and more. The plaintiffs are seeking everything EA made through loot boxes since 2008 in damages, so if the suit was to be successful, it's safe to say EA would have to pay a whole lot of money.
Those fucking dog fuckers are actually doing something based and Suing EA for gambling without a license and is looking to get back every cent EA has made in Canada.
You fuckers better be calling up your municipal leaders and government officials to tell them their is free money on the table to be taken away from one of the most wealthiest companies in the world and it's completely legal!!
gacha games should be taxxed when you consider the way they prey on children

Lel, Zig Forums worshipped some guy 2x as evil as Bobby for years, who shilled Nintendo here aggressively. Nintendo has some good aspects, but he was everything wrong with Nintendo, hell bent on making things worse.
EA will get out of this without having to pay a cent, it has always been this way with huge globalist companies
Daniel Ortiz
Heard it a few days ago Based leafs No but seriously, people in the US and ESPECIALLY the EU should sue or make their governments sue for terrible business practices, they can't win this battle on all 3 fronts
James Ross
corps control the US govt. nothing will happen here.
Liam Baker
Why do Canadians hate Trudeau? He was considering a buyout of Ubisoft until he found out it was tied to a bunch of wacky French laws.
>tfw canadian >tfw never bought loot boxes in any game ever because I'm too smart for that shit >Now missing out on class action lawsuit
Dylan Rodriguez
Actually, they won't. Once a foreign government goes after a corporation, they win. Microsoft pulled out of the EU in the early 90's after being slammed with Anti-Trust lawsuits. Non-American countries still have monopoly laws in effect.
Christopher Harris
>worshipped >who shilled Nintendo here aggressively ???
Daniel Thompson
holly shit is that Tony Abbot in the back ???
Josiah Foster
The key thing is, the Belgium incident is setting a precedence.
Gavin Wood
difference between gacha and loot boxes is gacha games are free and loot boxes hide content in paid games behind further random monetization
Carson Flores
I can't believe fucking Belgium of all countries saved vidya

He was a Nintendo of America employee/executive. He spent years having a rage-fit/fart-high/orgasm, because I suggested Nintendo appeal slightly to 'hardcore' gamers which just meant people that aren't literal grandpa's or soccer moms. Tried to brainwash Zig Forums and the IRC jannies/mods into being massive normalfags. This guy was insane, he came to Zig Forums, this nerdy technology enthusiast website, and expects everyone here to be nearly amish. Just buy $700 worth of Nintendo products and then play videogames for no more than 10 minutes a day or else 'Master' Malstrom is gonna teach you a listen. Reason why throughout most Zig Forums's history you couldn't really get mad at Nintendo like with Sony. Like, I just want to at least PRETEND that I'm a nerd on Zig Forums, even if I had a job and family.
>teach you a listen. lesson* my eyes are blurring, gotta sleep.
David Torres
True but a man can hope. It wasn't actually a crime up until recently so reaching that far back is a long shot and with the money in their pockets, EA will make this disappear quickly.
Noah Scott
>canada wow, who cares?
Cameron Ward
k now make valve and activision pay
Caleb Howard
So much easier for children to get a hold of, got it.
Ryder Kelly
Valve dosen't put lootboxes in E-rated games. They have going for them in case of a lawsuit. Both steam and their own games have guidelines against minors.
Lucas Mitchell
I don't think Mass Effect or Apex Legends are rated E, either. Where'd you get that part from? The suit is about unregulated gambling, not age ratings in games and services.
Noah Russell
Fifa
Colton White
Fifa and some of their mobile games are rated E.
Colton Cox
Based Australian government forcing global tobacco companies to use brown packaging. It is possible
Andrew Rodriguez
>Fifa Okay, and >the filing comes with a list of over 60 titles including EA's sports franchises, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Battlefield, Apex Legends and more.
Jaxon Harris
I hope they succeed. Fuck EA.
Lucas Carter
I'm not the one who made the argument, I was just pointing out EA's E rated games brother.
Brayden Price
>class action so they'll get like a couple dollar each? still, fuck EA, they need some fucking humbling
