God I hope so. They've always been so weird about moving the series forward.
Looks like shit since they're reusing assets from the FotM remake.
Why can't they make it in the same style as the Doraemon spin off? That game look way better than the cheap looking 3D models and environment they're using here.
that game was funded by whoever own doraemon now, and you now the game will sell more than regular SoS with its brand recognition alone. Also SoS always have the same problem with pokemon, it sells good enough without putting too much effort in it, so why bother?
If they confirm yuri marriage I may give this game a chance.
You'd think it would always be in the series from here on out which by HM/SoS standards means there's only a 50% chance you'll ever see it again
It's already staple in the series, sadly.
>still doesn't look as good as the Doraemon spin off
>no portraits
>definitely won't have rival marriage
Eh, I'm glad they announced it, but I'm not really that excited, especially since they already announced RF5.
Why would you play any entry in the series at all when Rune Factory exists?
You can finish the entire game almost without farming in 4
just because you can skip something it doesn't mean it doesn't exist, the mechanics are still there for you to do
And looks like 5 will have as much farming as in Tides of Destiny.
The farming mechanics in 4 at least has enough depth and breadth.
>Why can't they make it in the same style as the Doraemon spin off?
Because it's Bamco game and not developed by marvelous
>No portraits
Worry
You mean when Back to Nature exists. I have no interest in Rune Factory whatsoever.
It unironically looks soulless. I thought it was a nu-Harvest Moon at first and not based SotS.
Only if they also release it on PS4/Xbone/PC. The series was multi-play for the majority of its life and started to soar because of that.
Any game from the BotN/64/FoMT era is a great pick. How did they hit it out of the fucking park in the late-90s like that?
hope not or at least an option to disable the gayshit
in older games you could unlock random events if you had a high frienship with the villager, in the remake means you want to fuck them
Yes and no, it might lead to double or triple sales like world did, but the programmer in marvelous are so incompetent I don't think they can port in to the PC. Yes, Port to the PC.
Redpill me on the difference between Rune Factory, Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon, and Stardew Valley.
I haven't played any.
Harvest Moon was the name given by the localization team to Bokujō Monogatari.
A different group began to localize Bokujō Monogatari, and did not own the rights to Harvest Moon.
The team that owns Harvest Moon started to make thier own shitty series using that name.
Bokujō Monogatari became Story of the Seasons.
Rune Factory is a spin-off of Bokujō Monogatari / original Harvest Moon with more RPG elements and weebshit.
Stardrew Valley is just a game inspired by Bokujō Monogatari and is entirely unrelated.
Harvest Moon is the original, bunch of fun, buggy but charming games that eventually went stale after a while.
The devs left Natsume so they continue to make the games under the name Story of Seasons. Natsume still makes Harvest Moon games of their own.
Rune Factory is a different sort of game with RPG elements and combat that its faggot fanbase likes to pretend replaces the original series as a straight upgrade when in reality its a totally different sort of game.
Stardew Valley is western dogshit no one with a functioning brain should pay attention to.
I don't fully understand, but thank you. Wasn't expecting genuine answers.
Sounds like Rune Factory is the one for me.
this looks worse than the Wii game (Animal Parade) that came out 10+ years ago.
Harvest Moon games prior to 2007ish are Harvest Moon
New Harvest Moon games are not Harvest Moon.
Story of the Seasons is Harvest Moon.
Rune Factory is Harvest Moon with more waifus, monsters, and you can play entirely without farming. It is very not-Harvest Moon.
Which game has the most cute girls in it?
Any of them except Stardew Valley because its ugly western shit. Each of the games have different art styles and girls so its just a matter of preference.
they need to bring back the bartering system. It's so damn fun.
Nope. The game is absolutely stagnant and relies too much on pure nostalgia. It needs something new to save the series.
>find the way to be rich by making grass seed and selling them on bazaar
>Try to share it on gamesfaqs
>everyone's already doing it
Are the same characters, festivals, and farms in those games? There are different experiences to be had. Also, RF 5's farming area looks horrible to me.
Because all of 4's milestones are associated with dungeons. The farming is an afterthought and doesn't progress the game at all.
Seems like they're trying to make your farm more open and customizable like in Stardew Valley. I'm fine with that, as long as I don't have to create the village too.
HMDS actually had a very customizable farm, so they could be borrowing from that and not necessarily ripping off Stardew.
