I really hope they're just off or not done yet. I don't think I can bring myself to play a SoS game with no portraits. The 3D models alone are nowhere near expressive or charming enough on their own.

since the thread it's dead here's my first impressions on the demo

Pros
>many QOLs from stardew are in like the sprinkler
>the fishing minigame shas some depth
>being able to terraform your farm and create paths is nice

Cons
>no portraits
>the graphics are bad not even the Wii titles look better
>cartoony animals clash hard with the enviroment, the classic HM cow should be a gift like in ToT not the default one
>already framedrops in the trailer
>looks like a 3ds game

I'm feeling optimistic about it. I've liked all the latest games in the SoS series. This one gives me a comfy Innocent Life-vibe.

sadly it looks good for SoS standard. Hopefully the area where you can develop is big enough, at least around 4 times BTN's field

The character models don't look quite as awful as in FoMT, so there's that. ;-;

I actually think the character models look pretty appealing. Big improvement over the 3DS and the minimum effort Mineral Town remake graphics. I know that's not saying much, but this is what I've come to expect from this franchise. As long as the waifus are cute and the game is fun I can forgive it.
Though it is obvious they lifted that cow straight from the Mineral Town remake. The other animals actually look a little more detailed, but I could be mistaken.

to me, this is the last good Harvest Moon game.
