Homecoming has some damn nice enemy designs but the story tried way too fucking hard to be silent hill 2, the legend of zelda combat was awful, and everything else sucked dick. Meanwhile downpour had garbage enemy designs but did other things ok.

The first movie is probably one of if not the best video game movies ever. Even as a standalone horror film its pretty fucking decent.
The second movie was pants on head retarded. I've never seen a drop in quality so fucking hard in my whole life. Like it's not like its "oh yeah it's bad compared to the other one" its straight up fucking abysmal.

What in the goddamn are you suggesting user? There is very little to write home about, Homecoming, it is easily the worst game in the series and much worst than 3 or Room.
Also no mention of Downpour, well imo, it's a good game and would of been a good sendoff for the franchise instead of Pachinko machines, a dungeon crawler and the cancelled game.

I used to really dislike the first movie, but it's fucking amazing compared to the sequel.
It's still messy, but at least it was actually trying to emulate the atmosphere, monster designs, and melancholy tone of the games.

Downpour's a janky mess, and it has the worst monster design of the series, but I feel like it's heart is in the right place as far as spin-off games go.
I actually really liked the concept of being able to explore random buildings and just organically bumping into some weird subplot or unique scare. Though I imagine it was a bit of a double-edged sword, because all the best moments of the game for me were completely optional things I found while randomly exploring.

Like hell it did. It parrots practically everything else BUT Silent Hill games. Murph's a fucking annoying prick, the story makes zero sense and is contradicted by every single ending, gameplay is clunky mess, visuals are pathetic even compared to PS2 games + filled with copypasted assets and ROOMS, and audio design is pathetic. The few classic SH songs they play in the radios contrast starkly against the Dexter TV-show OST / lack of it.
