Considering that you say "everything else functions just like the game", I'm assuming you mean we can easily penetrate the ground, all the materials we collect are in the form of easily placed tiles, we don't melt from the heat from lava and only get hurt when we're inside it, etc.
Immediately build a commie block so you don't get railed by slimes/zombies. Build a few more for other NPCs
Carefully mine in a staircase-like fashion because a la Minecraft being in "first person" digging straight down will probably just lead to a fiery death
Immediately hunt and hoard 19 Heart Crystals, using enough to get to 180 Life initially
Also scavenge for the typical bunch of accessories in the abandoned underground houses and mine ores. If this is 1.4.1, secure a Lucky Horseshoe in the chests as well.
Look straight up to see if there's any nearby floating islands, and pillage them for everything they have on them. Get out quickly so we're not molested by Harpies
Pray that this is a Corruption world and build a tall platform above the ground
Go into the Corruption with 400 Life, a shit ton of grenades/bombs, a squad of several people and Gold/Platinum armor, and impromptu earplugs
Get a poor sad sap to plunge into the corrupted ravines and blow everything up in hopes of destroying three Shadow Orbs. Give said sad sap a Magic Mirror so he doesn't get railed by EoW
Proceed to blow EoW the fuck up with a colossal stockpile of grenades
Secure everyone with Demonite armor and tools
Wait for a Meteorite to drop. Have everyone stay underground so they aren't struck
Proceed to mine the Meteorite, and very carefully as well (Obsidian Skulls, plus people keeping watch)
Fight the Eye with our buffed gear. Eye is second after EoW because EoW is more easily cheesed
Have the Dryad move in
Immediately gangbang the Dryad
The story ends there, everyone just fucks the Dryad until she's more cum than human

First ones may get two steps in until the thousands of people all loading in at spawn crash reality.

Just the forest biome alone would be a massive threat. Slimes could easily kill a Zig Forums user by themselves, not to mention night time with zombies and other monsters.
Lava would also be a massive danger since you would fucking burn just being in their presence.
The only advantage that Zig Forums would have is their numbers, which isn't much to start off but can quickly snowball if they can actually work together, gather resources and arm everyone properly. Hell, if Zig Forums reaches that point, they can just roll through everything through sheer number.
Now the real question is whether or not Zig Forums can even work together without some infighting or psychopaths trying to sabotage each other.

not to mention that since pvp is only allowed with teams on, a proper sociopath would simply never pick a team nor enable pvp, becoming untouchable. since getting lava or a sand gun would require a gargantuan amount of effort early game chances are they wouldn't almost ever get punished until some anons advanced enough to serve as guards
