What are the best games in the "controlling little men" genre? I want to play all the worthwhile ones.
My current list is:
Age of Empires 1+2+3
XCOM
Company of Heroes 1+2
Desperados 1+2+3
Shadow Tactics
Am I missing anything? Is old shit like Commandos worthwhile? Early Warcraft?

If you count in Anno games, 1800 or 1404 are pretty great.
In civ you control large men the size of a skyscraper.

Sure, but for me specifically Civ rounds take too long while Total War I only like Shogun 2 but they fucked the loading times and never patched it so it's frustrating to play.

Hell yes Stronghold 1 & Stronghold Crusader are great. Don’t bother with the sequels though.
