Have the two on the left and the GBA gameshark codes book; still think I have a bookmark on the San Andreas cheats. Also fuck me for spending hours on end entering massive strings of codes into the gameshark just so I could get a shiny onyx in emerald.
Cheat codes were always dumb and ruined the fun of the game. "HAHA LOOK THEIR HEADS ARE BIG. MOM LOOK, THEIR HEAD AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THAT SIZE". Anybody who used cheat codes grew up to be a tranny.
>hating on big head mode
no fun allowed
I feel like a lot of these weren’t even “cheat codes” but tips and tricks, which is handy too. I found out about the hidden fruits in Wii sports resort through a cheat book, blew my mind. pic related gave me some good memories with Pokémon Diamond, I remember discovering Darkrai by walking through walls and stuff
Remember printing out Vice City codes from supercheats.com on the school printer
Ruining the developers intentions is not "fun". Games are about rules.
Which is why they were optional and for you to fuck around with if you wanted to, usually after beating the game under the "developer's vision". How autistic are you?
>games are about rules
sounds like a bootlicker to me, everything about a game is supposed to be fun, thats why they're called video GAMES
>not using gamewinners.com
They were an option designed to cater to faggots like you and
>Ruining the developers intentions
They were the ones who added it though?
What? I never knew of any devs who "designed cheats" to cater to any specific crowd. It always seemed to me like a bonus thing to add a bit of extra length and customization to the game, mostly after you were done with it. Either way, why would you ever be against it? Are you against mod support too, since that could be easily used to shatter the developers intentions, even though it's also completely optional?
Yes now follow the developer intentions and buy them
Modern developers do not have my respect and do not deserve yours. Notice how modern devs complain about "crunch" but back in the day it was normal and accepted that they must put in extra time to work on their art.
Also yes, I am against mods that aren't about improving stability or restoring cut content.
>the bootleg Palka, Dialga, and Piplum
S O U L
Good job ignoring my entire post. What do you even define as "improving stability". Just purely bugfixing? You also know that cut content was sometimes chosen to be cut BY THE DEVS for various reasons, right? Also you aren't special in your opinion that everyone has that using mods that destroy the original developer's vision is not something you should do. But you do have to be pretty autistic to argue that you should never have that option. That's exactly how we end up where we are now with no mod support for a lot of games and only being served another 3 DLC packs of "the dev's vision" for actual money with no freedom for you to mess with the game. There's a reason games like the Original DOOM still get played to this day and it isn't because people are only playing "the original dev vision' as it was in 1994.
In general if you game needs mods to be good it isn't a good game, but I admit that there are some games worth playing like New Vegas and Kotor 2 that need mods to run without crashing and that have content that was cut for time and performance on consoles. The cut content that is restored must be judged on a case by case basis, for example, Open Freeside is okay but the alliance between Mr. House and the Brotherhood of Steel is not.
>be young fag
>watch a bunch of random Youtube videos about hacking in Pokemon games with Action Replay
>get really upset that people are doing this in DS games, especially online
>go to any department store like Walmart or Target with my parents
>grab every AR they had on shelves
>hide them in random places across the store one by one out of anger
Boy wait until you find out how much people don't play by the rules in real life in general.
I sold duped Mews to kids at school for good money back then.
One kid gave me four Mr. Mime cards in trade and I made the biggest nigger stall deck with defense cards and dumb gay shit like that. When you're in elementary school everyone just tried to stack up the shit with the most damage so I became king of the faggots
I knew a bug in Pokemon Emerald that allowed you to clone your Pokemon and made a nice thing out of "selling" my strong Pokemon. Part hard work to get them to max level and with good stats, part cheating to simply dupe them and then sell them to other kids.
>use action replay in pokemon pearl
>use cheats to give me the item for the darkrai event
>Catch him legit
>transfer him to every game
>fast forward to pokemon bank
>tells me i cant transfer him
i will never not be mad. He was one of my favorite pokemon as an edglord 13 year old
Yeah, they were used to sell magazine subscriptions or other print media instead.
>one half of the book is for consoles
>the other half is for handhelds
>Advertise that its two books in one to fool retarded kids
i also hate how the best cheatcode books were each missing like one or two games that the other books had, so i had to keep a collection of like 6 of the fuckers just to have the few codes the others didnt have
for me it's cheatcc
>Cheat code book
>Lists cheats that aren't even in the game
>Got games mixed up and listed cheats for another game
Some of those books were straight up garbage
This. They were hardly of any real use.
I would always buy them at the school book fair but never actually use them since I only owned like 15 games at the time
>lists cheats
>Doesnt tell you how or where to input the cheat
it was good for games with a cheat menu on the menu, but games with secret cheat menus were a pain
