So what's the verdict?

It was ok, definitely had a vision and not necessarily made for the enjoyment of the audience. Still pretty fun tho, even though it could be tedious.
It's really good, but has almost 0 replayability and second fourth of the game is a little bit too boring.
the parts with mama and the junk dealer were bad but everything else was pretty good. i really like the ending
9/10 near masterpiece ruined by the last hour and kojimbos near retard level writing. Still an absolute must play experience.
It's great
i'm guessing there's a superu-twisto with someone being revealed as a quadruple agent?

terrible story with great gameplay
been playing it recently. pretty interesting game. kinda rushing through it though, because i've a feeling that if i fuck around too much i'm gonna burn out and never finish the game/ take few months break and forget what i was doing and why
Fragile but not Fragile/10
Game falls apart when you get weapons. Ending is a 2 hour movie. You have to watch the credits like 3 times and see Kojima's name like 20 times.
That bulgie..
Good game overall, feels like a fever dream due to the what-the-fuck-Kojima Effect aka Captain ESL Exposition.
very true. I finished it and had a great time but I will never be playing it again, I don't think.
Sorry, just to add: unless you are fucking around and trying to do every delivery, the online system doesnt really matter. By the time you unlock other player structures, you've already completed most of your missions for an area. Other player structures are only useful for the second to last episode
Nah it's just kind of a nonsensical plot that somehow still works with how goofy the writing is. The overall story and gameplay makes up for it.
One of the best game of the year
It's shit.
t. 5:59:00 playtime
I really wish someone had explained to Kojima that most American adults rarely if ever use emojis. Especially the equivalent of dockworkers.
The gameplay loop becomes really fun especially in the last 2/3 rds. I wish it lasted longer and there were more knots to link up. In the last part theres a retarded huge exposition dump and the story falls to pieces. You may aswell turn it off once you reach the west coast
Pretty good, story is entertaining if you can get past the often new concepts that feel like they're made on the fly to satisfy the plot. The actual gameplay is an interesting take on traveling, ultimately its pretty slow-paced though and once you acquire vehicles and weapons it becomes extremely easy, even the new stuff the game throws at you sort of doesn't matter since you acquire that much more power, it sort if ruins the horror aspects the game was going for.
I was finding other play shit all the fucking time and i also pretty much rushed through the story. The only thing you really miss out on later down the road is roads and zipline hookups. I actually really enjoyed seeing evidence of other people in the world.
It's easily the second best game about a courier in post apocalyptic America.

It was a one-of-a-kind experience, and I enjoyed playing it.
However, I am not one of the people who rebuilt all the roads or continued doing deliveries after the ending. I did some side deliveries to get equipment from stars, but I can see the game getting tedious if you don’t keep progressing at a decent pace.
Like the very out of place Japanese chick I assume Kojima was banging - Chiral Artist - yeah it's fine as a once off from her. But all the emails from literally everyone?
I took my time and absorbing the atmosphere so I have slightly more play time than you but at the end I agree. At the very end I just started lethally killing mules just for fun.
I loved it overall. It's not perfect, but it may be the only 100+ hour game I don't regret wasting time on.
I agree that it's hard to go back once you finish it, but maybe I'll do it for the achievements as a motivation.
I had fun building all the roads and connecting everything with the slingshot things.
>you will never run your own game studio that can fund your autism to the point where you can hire the actors and directors your admire to "work" but really just hang out with you and still end up making a really decent fucking game
That's kinda why i rushed my first playthrough, i'm really looking forward to my second beause i know there's more of the world i can go back and ss but i'm holding off until a gpu upgrade just so i can experience it in maxxed out everything goodness.
Chapters 3-11 are great. It's when the game gets too story focused that my eyes glaze over and I stop caring.
It made me want more though. I want a day/night cycle, spelunking, more vehicles (drones, helicopters), teammates (if they get injured you might have to pick them up and carry them back to base), co-op with rope belaying mechanics, being able to put pitons in while climbing and hang extra lines, climbing using handholds, flares when in danger, more BT types, more weather types, battlefields and points in history appearing in the main map while traveling (i.e. wander into a WW1 supercell by accident), etc. There is so much you could add to this game that it makes me sad we probably won't get a sequel.
Fun game with little to no replay-ability.
Vehicles getting stuck in mud or tar and having to winch them out like Spintires. Terrain having more of an effect on vehicles in general would be good actually.
Large forests/jungles with tree climbing mechanics.
>Large forests/jungles
More forests would've made it way better.
The landscape in general is too flat and open.
The flashback fights had some awesome locations.
Kojima can make good games but he needs someone to tell him when to stop and whats needed to be added.
The game is okay and the play experience is quite enjoyable but it feels like they should've added more depth to the gameplay.
Imagine for example if an elders scroll game was reduced to farming and fishing or a Fallout game but you loot empty houses and go back home to store stuff when youre encumbered.
It will still be comfy but a lot of wasted potential.
Kojima need someone with him on the helm also for the cringe writing i wanted to gouge my own eyes and shove a rusty nail into my ears at the "princess beach" bit .
But still its a fun autism simulator
Played 70 hours and loved it. Pure Kojima kino, even if the story was a bit convoluted.
They also teased going to the moon. Also kojimbo has been hinting at a sequel.
Jesus what settings are you playing at that looks like garbage.
its trash, i mean its playable garbage but still garbage, the enemy encounters are fine. the core mechanic aka delivery and fetch quests while keeping balance arent fun. i played right up untill i was told the shiny highway i just build would deteriorate because of the time fall and would just be one more fucking fetch quest to maintain it by delivering raw materials.the story is kinda interesting but i read books for stories.
do not buy/ kojima is a meme.
