How you guys feeling the art style? I know a lot of you didn't like the chibi look of SoS FoMT but this looks like a mix of the remake and ToT, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. But it feels to me that they're taking a lot from Stardew Valley, I hope I'm wrong but we'll see. Anyways DISCUSS.
This is a pleasant surprise. I haven't played one since Trio of Towns. It might be too early to say for sure but the farm customization looks like a huge upgrade.

I like the animal designs however I wish the humans were just a bit less detailed, HM:MM had the best design but I get that this is SoS As long as there is a tanned tomboy miner/shopkeeper you can marry then its all good

It actually looks great. Maybe not Doraemon great but not far from it. It actually looks splendid. So why didn't the Friends of Mineral Town remake looked anything like this? Fuck.

I'm excited for it. I found this on the site. Seems like there are more animals to ride around on than just horses.
I want to see how the character portraits and the designs of the townspeople look.
Also I hope farm customization isn't complete ass and full of restrictions/invisible walls preventing you from placing things in certain spots or even next to each other. If its passable like the customization in trio i'd be fine with it.

No word on it yet, for now assume its Switch exclusive.
Seems to me it won't have character portraits, conversations are going to be like pic related, but the main characters do have portrait stills which kind of tells us the direction of the portrait style, will post next.
if you see the trailer you can clearly see the japs got a bit obliberated by stardew valleys success and are trying to step their game a bit, hopefully they are also planning on implementing although i never play or will play farm sims with people

No portraits might just be a deal breaker honestly. When it comes to character models for this series they arent exactly known for being very expressive. I'll have to see more for myself but I doubt that the models will be able to convey the character's emotions the same way that a sheet like this can. You can already see in the trailer that some characters are speaking to the player character completely stone faced which doesnt instill confidence. youtube.com/watch?v=bTAMEsK-GKM&t=93
I agree, I love the portraits and I think characters will feel lifeless without them. But if the gameplay loop feels good enough and I can enjoy the character's personalities through the text dialogue I think I can keep playing it for a while, I'll keep an open mind and give it a try.

this, it was super bland

Wow finally something I might want to get for my switch.
