Which makes the most sense?
Which makes the most sense?
playstation.
I'm a lifelong snoy but I like the xbox controller better, the layout is more comfortable and it feels higher quality
xbox and playstation are virtually identical
but for me, it's nintendo
kbm
They would be virtually identical if the confirm/cancel buttons were actually consistent on PlayStation. Instead it's varied between:
O=yes, X=no
X=yes, Δ=no
X=yes, O=no
Nintendo and Japanese Playstation (Pre-PS5)
What kind of backwards ass game used triangle as a no button?
pretty much every single Western-made game on the PS1 and PS2
X to confirm, ∆ to cancel was the norm back in the PS1 days
switch-mote. to shove up ur ass when your playing on you're pc
I grew up with Nintendo consoles, so to me they make the most sense. I played more playstation than xbox, so I have the layout memorized. While playing with an xbox controller, every once and I while I need to old man and look at the button placement, but my exposure to it has been limited.
Xbox. A= accept and jump on the bottom for easy access, B = back on the back, X = x axis, Y = y axis
>X = x axis, Y = y axis
Fuck me that's good.
>A and B but not Y and Z
Snoystation makes most sense
Once again, Xbox wins the controller battle
wasd
Xbox. Nintendo is second but you read left to right so their letters are backwards.
........Z
....Y......C
X......B
....A
....Y
X......B
....A
Nintendo. A is positive, should be on the right. Down is for going back, and that makes sense for B.
I have to look down at a Playstation controller every time I use one. I use one.
Playstation
Casual
Xbox, the letters are going in order from left to right and x is horizontal compared to y which matches up with algebra
PlayStation, letters are dumb.
>X
>O
>not also letters
>cross
>circle
>ecks
>why
>ayy
>bee
>TRI ANG LE
>CIR CLE
>square
>ecks (or cross if youre a freak)
>press the "oh" button
Do people actually say this?
Nintendo. Decline should be default and bottom button makes the most sense as the default button. Confirm on mid right is cleaner than mid left since you have to reach across the buttons to go leftward. If bottom to mid right goes B A then mid left to top should be Y then X. Z Y would have been better. And it hurts that X then Y makes more sense due to graphs. But I’d rather have confirm/decline make sense than axis buttons.
I've literally never heard anybody say "cross" or "circle"
1 2 3 4 would be the best
me put triable shape into triangle hole like baby playing with baby toys.
me sony
I think Xbox and modern Playstation do it right. Like some people mentioned before, PS1 and PS2 were a mess with different games having different buttons mean different things, but by PS3 they were just going with the same thing as Xbox 360.
personally i say circle and ex.
oh fits with ex because its like Xs and Os (hugs and kisses)
and cross is genuine insanity
Most people call O by the shape and X by the letter. I think officially speaking though, Sony refers to X as cross.
I made my idea for a controller design, thoughts?
I think you should skinned like a deer
Needs a guitar hero whammy bar and it'll be perfect. Maybe a twist thing like bop-it too.
Yes, it made sense on Saturn but not on xboxes
Aren't all sticks already mixed with a button (L3)?
Do not ever design controllers again.
playstation
For me, the DS4.
Feels the most comfortable and natural to me.
I really dislike the asymmetrical stick layout and the feel of Xbox controllers. Same with the Switch for the sticks, but the Switch just feels awkward to hold because its a slab in your hands. You can rectify it by buying something like the pro controller, but the pro controller has a shit D-Pad and still has the same stick layout.
