any good?
Any good?
It's a very accurate representation of modern day australia
Get it on sale. The gameplay loop wears thin.
gets boring after a while, I couldn't finish it, but it's good
This game spoils future movies
It gets really repetitive. Didn't finish it.
If you like driving and don't mind arkham combat yes
Really repetitive. After exploring the first section I couldn't bring myself to do the other 3 and the story.
Yes
I always see it on sale for $5 or less and pass every time.
It's pretty good. Especially, if you're a fan of the movies.
It's well worth $5.
its good, not great but good
this. Car combat was fun and they got the spectacle right. Soundscape could've been better with the v8, but oh well.
I got tired of it towards the end but that was after doing a lot of the side content which there is a ton of
its pretty substantial for a licensed movie game and the driving is really fun, I say give it a go
game is good
boss battles are shit though
It's a great come home from work have a few beers and chill game. The combat is satisfying as fuck, and the vehicle combat is great. I've always been a sucker for taking over enemy bases/gang wars in san andreas. So if you're into that type of shit yeah.
The V8 sounds better with the top-tier engine upgrade and exhaust but the fact that it doesn't have a similar start up sound like the V6 (the starter catching, then the whole engine revving up like any engine should) as well as the V8 not guzzling more gas doesn't really make it a tradeoff.
It's a game with a good concept that never reaches it's potential and is filled with tons of copy pasted boring content.
That being said, the game had a bunch of of concepts and ideas practically stolen right from george miller and it's executed well.
Protip: The game is piss easy do NOT buy the upgrades that straight up remove depth/mechanics, it will only make the game more boring for you. The bamham combat is honestly fun, mostly because the animations are pretty awesome especially when you go into "rage" mode.
it has a better story than fury road
>boss battles
And he means boss battles as the singular because all the bosses are quite literally all the same boss, literally.
Yes, especially if it’s on sale. Unless you want to 100% the game or fully upgrade your car, you shouldn’t have to do all the repetitive map objectives that make the game a bore.
>I've always been a sucker for taking over enemy bases/gang wars in san andreas.
yeah me too. i wonder why this idea is not used anymore in open worlds, because it's a great way to make them not boring.
and for vehicle combat in mad max, sadly they're too rare.
Just know this means taking down multiple “scarecrows”, snipers, minefields, and caravans. It’s very repetitive.
The caravans are alright, but the best thing to do in the game are the camps. They offer a nice challenge, and some even have a boss fight at the end.
It's a pretty but otherwise boring game loaded with tons of open world filler. Vehicle combat has its moments and it can be a real blast to fight with other vehicles. On foot combat is a stripped down bamham, and it's lackluster at best. The only major on foot threat is getting swarmed and that happens a lot in the campaign missions
I loved the game. It delivers satisfying arkham asylum fist fights and explosive car chases throughout, and the level of detail in the open world is almost autistic. You can explore and actually go down a rabbit-hole adventure on your own.
Some of the upgrades like fuel efficiency, and automatically filling up fuel/weapons/ammo every time that you visit a hub really do kill off the scavenge/survive gameplay mechanics, although you can choose not to purchase any if you want. Car and Max customization are present, although usually anything you unlock is an upgrade over what you have.
I beat it, although it does get repetitive. Worth a playthrough though, definitely.
On sale? Absolutely. It does what it does pretty well. Some parts are repetitive (the scarecrows and snipers another user mentioned, but it's not like they take long to do either), but the individual camps are varied for the most part. The history relics act as pretty interesting worldbuilding, if you enjoy that. It isn't a 10/10 game, but it's up there.
This is that game that you run through one time and come back to every few months to knock out some more of the content. It’s pick up and playable relatively because it’s got banham combat with the catch that Max can’t teleport and somersault across the map to get to enemies so you actually have to roll out of the way or time your counters right. It’s a good emulation of the Mad Max movies but very repetitive. It goes around for $5 nowadays so it’s definitely worth a buy
I'm surprised by how much I like the ending.
good, but kinda repetitive and fetch heavy game. Not my cup of tea but a good game regardless.
Got it for free.
It was better than the reviews had me believe. Everything in the car is fun. Most stuff on foot gets old.
Story pacing is really weird. 80% of the story is in like the last 2 hours of the game.
Don't take too much time getting to gastown. They make it seem like the end, but that's where the real game starts.
Prioritize upgrading the Thunderpoon over everything else, it makes the biggest difference in car combat.
You can pull people out of their car through their windshield with a harpoon. Play it.
I fucking loved it.
I like it. It's not really a masterpiece but for the sale price I'd say it's definitely worth one playthrough. The worst part about the game is how repetitive it is - I'd suggest you try to avoid the side quest shit because it's kinda tiring, again, due to repetition. Basically it's like playing an Elder Scrolls game but the combat is extremely simplified and instead of running around on foot or in a horse, you drive. The graphics are pretty damn good and I love the included photo mode, but that's about it. I wish the driving was better, and a lot of the mini bosses you come across are just reskins of the same model, which sucks but whatever. Also I just started playing it again and it's a little buggier than I remember but so far nothing game breaking. 6/10.
Don't get armor upgrades for the car until you really, really need them
game's more fun that way
