It is not prey

Would be great if it had a bit more enemy variety. Especially towards the end where you mainly fought reskins of those little brick medical bots.

I think they should've been more generous with the skills, let you experiment more. Encourage replays too, despite being kind of open world, it's actually quite linear. Overall enjoyable though.

Prey 2006 is short and ultimately not that good compared to Prey 2017.

Best modern sci-fi immersive sim in the market

Also arguably the only modern sci-fi immersive sim on the market.

visually yeah, mechanically the enemies have more variety than your average game.

Those big psychic nigger enemies are bullshit and a huge pain to fight

>weapon variety was bad
>too many loading screens
>too many rinky dink sidequests
>sidequests with lots of run around
>lazy endings where your choices dont even matter
>later parts of the game look too samey visually
>traveling around exterior is tedious
solid 6.5/10

I Do not agree with any part of what you said

Was about to buy when it was relatively cheap but suddenly it bumped in price. What's up with that?

great until the element of mystery and horror around the enemies starts to fade and they become a nuisance

opening was excellent didnt like the rest of it

I thought it was awesome but exploring a huge empty space station with ridiculous detail down to every single employee was really fun for me

Stopped playing once they made my character a dyke and I felt her whiny ex was gonna be a character.

Why did you play as a woman?

I like sci-fi horror stories starring women and the whole setup seems more appropriate for a female lead.

arkanes post dmmm games, being on unreal or cryengine lost the granular scale of physics interactions, thus the sandbox nature and extent of player agency was actually greatly diminished, irispective of the quanty of the spells, abilities and creature designs implemented.
prey is less of a sandbox than DMMM.
arkane were given valves physics toolset, and the game benefited from it, but the studio failed to learn how and why the bar that it set, has subsequently not been met, and thus their following games never realised the potential they should have, both critically and commercially, considering the development of all of the non physics features, but which were ultimately just toppings for the physics cake which was noticibly absent.

GOTY 2017. Unofficial System Shock 3. Arkane's best work. Actual 10/10. Mooncrash is pure kino.

The babies who are still upset that Bethesda took away the sequel to their obscure 2006 FPS that a grand total of 10 people ever played, need to get over it. Arkane is making far better use of the IP.

>most threatening enemy
>can be avoided by changing area and waiting for 3 minutes
ruined the game for me desu

nobody cares

Bioshock > Prey > Bioshock Infinite > Bioshock 2

I thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt like playing a RPG.
Biggest downside was the loading screens lmao.

its really fun untill the end when they start sending a billion enemies at you.
i was not a fan you cant have the survivors do anything like set nullwave traps.
3-4 weapons sucks the game needed more for a bit of progression

overall superfun but a bit1 note.

thats one of the big issues, respawns, the game allows you to invest heavily into potentially fortifying certain places but its all undone at random because of respawns of endgame when its a fucking hellhole, at the end i just dodged combat because of it.

it's ok, took a while to click. the visual style didn't sit well with me, but I appreciate that they tried. did not like the 'le simulation xd' meme

I care, you flaming faggot. He has a point.

one of my other glaring issues is turrets get just destroyed once you leave an area. doing a no neruomod run or human mod run on harder difficulties sucks.

bioshock games are terrible

Yup i learned that the hard way, fucking pointless to upgrade turrets in most cases.

System Shock 2 > Prey > Bioshock > Bioshock 2 > Bioshock Infinite

Pretty spooky until you found the shotgun and realize how broken the slow time + extra damage ability is.
