I’m worried they’ll toss the box around and break them. I think Im not going to pack them and take them myself. Same with my pc.
Would you trust a moving company to keep your consoles safe?
Don’t trust anybody. Not even yourself.
Absolutely not.
just pack your shit better or do it yourself
No
t. someone who packs other people's things
How lazy are you to pack your our valuables?
Dipass anything that is above 200$ in fiscal or sentimental worth you should pack yourself and take with you
I wouldn't trust a moving company with anything
I would only trust movers with larger, bulkier items like appliances and couches.
IMO, movers are for furniture, not electronics.
If you pack the box correctly yourself, it should be fine.
Pro-tip, don't do that thing where you fold the bottom of the box up without tape. I worked for a moving company and someone lost a really expensive looking chandelier because they didn't put tape on the fucking bottom of the box when they packed it.
I've been folding the boxes where each flap has one side under another, and then duct taping the seams to the actual box. Seems sturdy enough.
I work in logistics: even if you put red tape and a big FRAGILE sign there's always the chance an idiot will throw it around or even sit on top of it.
Big red tape with FRAGILE on it has the opposite effect. Nothing more satisfying than slamming some valuable shit around.
Luckily for us normal people, when you hire movers they are insured and bonded so any damages are paid for by your employers and likely you get fired. It’s not like a postal service or FedEx/USPS - it is explicitly clear who fucking broke shit so you’ll get canned.
Even if they fired the guy who broke your shit, you'll still end up with broken shit.
Remove the fucking sticker off the front of your xbox you dumbass.
It will be paid for though. So long as it's not an irreplaceable item then that's fine.
No, I wouldn't. I would just keep them with you given how unreliable movers are.
>he removes his console stickers
lmao
Judging by the fate of your gamecube thats about to fall off that box, use the movers.
Fuck no. I've never hired any moving companies for any move. I always just do that shit myself.
Why would I want random faggots touching my stuff with their filthy hands, and then running the risk of them stealing any of it?
OY BRUV CHECK THIS OUT THIS GUY HAS A SNOYSTATION
You just have to supervise the move lol. I used movers last time I moved (3 storey townhouse to a 3 storey house including basement). Moving all that furniture and shit into the townhouse was pain enough, I gladly paid the $1k that it cost to move it all out and back into another house fuck that. Hire a good, reputable company and it's worth the time you save and stress, by a country mile holy shit.
The sticker was made for retards, so its no wonder youve left it on as a reminder.
>gamecube hanging almost on the side of a flimsy cardboard box
I wouldn't trust you either.
Take them yourself, thats not a lot.
You never trust someone who works around minimum wage.
>when you hire movers they are insured and bonded
Rarely. Most movers are just a couple of mooks and a guy behind a computer desk in his own home.
>damages are paid for by your employers
No it's clearly the insurer who would be paying for it, as you previous pointed out. And as everyone knows insurance companies are turbo niggers when it comes to settling, so expect months before you hear back from them.
>and likely you get fired
Doesn't really happen. Good fucking luck pinpointing which employee was responsible for breaking a certain item at some point during the move. Unless the customer can see it happen there's no way to prove anything besides the fact that it was damaged, which might as easily happen during transit as it would during loading and unloading.
What country are you from? In my country a moving company must only employ insured and bonded movers or else they are illegitimate (which is probably still a thing here since it makes it way more expensive but still)
Just use bubble wrap and foam to secure them inside their boxes. I successfully shipped over my PC, monitor included, with no damage a year ago.
I'm pretty sure I've read multiple comments from different various people that they've had stuff from their gaming collections disappear during a move.
I think the question is where the hell are you from where movers aren't just a couple of random men with a van?
If it's fragile, small, and of any worth you should take it with you if possible. Every competent moving company will tell you that.
Even if they make no mistake there's always a risk.
