Why the fuck is this game so clunky and hard? I wanted to play more CRPGs and I heard this game was good.
I've played D:OS2 AND BG:3 and I found the gameplay much easier and understandable. How am I suppose to play the game if the prologue is stopping me from playing and ejoying the game?

choose paladin and just use crush evil on everyone

It's kind of lame how many crpg's just use dnd rules or are based on tabletops themselves.

The game is very much made with the assumption you already understand the system. They will probably correct this for the sequel.

NO

Play on easy or play something like BG2 first to get better understanding on how to play rtwp games.

There's your problem

Because it uses the pathfinder ruleset. Instead of adapting it to vidya they just dumped the ruleset in.

Play with the turn based mod. Switch to it during tough fights, it makes them eadier and more fun.

How do you find all 16 curses and study them? I completed the game with 10 or something curses and can't save Nyrissa.

if you're not familiar with dnd like rules you'll have to read up on stuff. You don't need to read a bunch up front necessarily but it helps to read up on stuff you don't fully understand as you go along. Turn the difficulty lower than you'd usually do as the game can legit be hard if you don't know what you're doing and you should make plenty of use of the pause function (or play turn based).

You have to do it through the Kingdom shit.

Some of them have very dodgy requirements.

You have to say specific things to Tartuk for example or you won't get the option to research his curse.

Some of them are fairly specific, but irc you only need 13. Tartuk's the hardest, since you need to kill the troll before him

>How do you find all 16 curses
check a wiki for a list

Some are unlocked by sidequests, some by conversation, some you always get, etc.

find some people to play pathfinder with then come back, that's what helped me, it requires a solid understanding of the pathfinder ruleset, either 1 or 2e doesn't matter since it's homebrew anyway

Is this bait?

>How am I suppose to play the game if the prologue is stopping me from playing and ejoying the game?
Try to not pretending to be a tryhard and pick Normal difficulty

>Tartuk's the hardest, since you need to kill the troll before him
It's actually not hard

the difficulty is shit in this game i hope they balance it out in the next game. there's ways to make your game challenging without giving the enemy retarded inflated stats

>retarded inflated stats
Such as..?

not him but the wererats in that cave for instance

Well they are high-level mobs.

>post that bear

Well that's all the difficutly, the enemy just gets inflated stats.

because they tried to stay true to a pen & paper system and thought it would work in a video game.
also, literally no testing.

Post
Just for the protocol, I am not a tabletop RPG player, so Idk how stats should be established, yet had no problems with enemies, so guess it's just cRPG crowd are utter wretches like their tabletop cousins.

ps. but I couldn't also imagine a different abbroach how to make the game more diffcult without just playing with the stats.

>Well that's all the difficutly, the enemy just gets inflated stats.
But you can customize the difficulty.

This game expects you to already know about the genre and you minmaxing your characters, get the turnbased mod for the bosses and play on normal or easy since you WILL be stuck everywhere if you are playing for fun, also set the government to automatic because it's the most tedious shit in the entire game

Don't listen to this pleb

Well he isn't wrong about minmaxing benefits
Also, stop calling anyone a pleb, you both are RPG players
