Use the gravestones to block and direct his movement until he transforms, and learn the timings on shooting him to stagger and perform a visceral attack.

Throw fire bottles when he transforms, or if you managed to find his kids and follow their short storyline, you can distract him with the music box you got from that.

Learn to parry, get the music box, use the graves to block shots/create space. If you can beat him you can beat the rest of the game. The only reason he's difficult is because you're coming to grips with the fasters combat.

That's not good advice either. You're constraining yourself to a narrow space. Sure you don't have gravestones that might block your path, but instead you limit where you can go.

I think the first one in DMC3 is harder

For a souls game? Yes. It has turned so many of my friends away, and only recently 1 of them finally beat him and has been commenting since that everything else is easier.

Use that shotgun user, blast away at him. Basically just watch what he’s doing and “no u” him to death

Why wouldn't you fight Cleric Beast first?

first phase: dodge towards him, parry
second phase can be skipped entirely:
- wait for him to transform and use music box
- while he's stunned, charge attack behind his back + visceral
- while he's getting up : 2 or 3 molotovs and he's dead

Because he's way harder than Gascoigne. If you struggle with Gascoigne, you might have genuine downsyndrome.

gascan can be abused using the tombstones to slow him down or the axe to attack him through them.

Kirk hammer is a beginners trap. Ludwig's holy blade basically does everything it does but better. bonking people is fun, though

Literally git gud at parrying. Not even trolling you. It makes the game much easier and trivialises half the bosses. If you still need help go talk to the girl looking for her mom and get the music box and activate it during the fight.

Kek. Once you learn how to play, you'll realise how OP the Saw Cleaver is.

The only reason I might agree is the wolf enemies. They're way stronger than normal for some reason and they both agro you at once. I can see that potentially scaring people from going through there and instead going through the sewers on the left. It hasn't happened to anyone I know, but I can imagine it.

honestly, the best thing you can do is die to him repeatedly until you get a good feel for dodging and parrying
by the time you're dancing with the man in earnest, you'll be fine for everything else the game has to offer

Mfw cleric beast was easy and Gascoigne was one of the hardest fights in the game for me until I figured out how to parry

I've platted the game, I know how OP the transform combo on the cleaver is, but that's not what we were talking about. Kirkhammer just isn't very good.

Honestly I got filtered by this game too, probably because it's the first time I tried to play a 3D game in this style, but it's still a bit embarrassing.
