I'm not sure why people simp for DeS' old music, it was literally recorded in a broom closet with like 4 instruments used max. I mean, just fucking listen to the penetrator theme, it's fucking awful.

astraea, flamelurker, the one who consumes souls etc are good tracks, but most of the music in DeS is not good.

With that said, I'm not sure why people are getting triggered so badly since these arrangements are done by the people who recorded bloodborne's soundtrack.

Asshurt alarm: Demon Souls' OST was never that good. It works, sure, but it's dragged down by cheap and repetitive instrument samples, sub-par mixing and fairly generic arrangements. It's not that it is bad, but it is far from some holy grail of videogame soundtracks. It's bland, and what they've done here is replace that bland with a different kind of bland. This type of bland has way less identity, but is also more impressive technically. Them being all pretentious about it doesn't help. But this is just the kind of revamp the music needed to match the modern production values.

you can. I'm not a fan of the choir but they made the flamelurker sound more heroic with sweeping strings and stuff, so I appreciate that because it fits with the fast paced nature of the fight. Besides the trombone is still in, later on in the track.
