no lol. playstation is going off of an amazing 7 years with 113m PS4 users. its not like 2006 where they made a $600 console and expected it to just work because people liked the PS1 and PS2. they have Spider-Man, Sackboy and Demon's Souls at launch. they match the price of the Xbox Series Sex. Xbox will probably just end up selling $100 streaming sticks for xCloud by 2025.

I already thought the writing was on the wall a while ago but now Microsoft have painted the whole fucking town in their blood.

Consoles are slowly going away. Sony has accepted this. Its the reason they're now porting their exclusives to PC. They could see what Microsoft were doing and thought they could build a similar ecosystem and futureproof the Playstation brand - pehaps as somekind of GamePass style service further down the road.

But Microsoft has bombed the playing field. Not only has Microsoft built a fantastic Netflix-style gaming service. Microsoft now owns half the fucking industry.

Microsoft played the long game and now has things sown up. They Trojan-Horsed their way into 98% of people's households. Laid the groundwork for their ecosystem and delivery network. And then they bought all the games.

Nintendo is Nintendo. They will be fine. They have a legacy and history that can never be topped. Even if Nintendo stop making consoles, people will always buy their games through whatever delivery method they choose.

Sony literally have fuck all to offer after this gen. They've proven to be unwilling or incapable of evolving. The PS5 might do well this gen but Sony have nowhere to go after this. Microsoft have squeezed them out of the game.

Its tough to hear, but it really is the beginning of the end for Sony

It’s the icing on the cake, if you were a fan of Halo/Gears/Forza you can expect more of that and if you are a fan of God of War, Ghost, Spider-Man you know where to go next. While multiplats make up the vast majority of game sales the niche 1st party games are what you end up going with one over the other for.

I don't care about xbox winning in sales. I just want them to release a good product and release good games since I'm buying one and paying for gamepass. So far the series x is looking to be a vast improvement from the original xbox one launch. Phil may over hype shit but it's evident he's trying and cares about xbox.

Oh and you seemingly forgot people buy tv/anime/movies from these digital stores it’s not purely games and not something you would want a time limit of current gen on.

I think XBOX will win after a few years in. They been buying massive amounts of studios even before Series X announcement. These studios been at work for a couple years now making something. XBOX is gonna have a lot of microsoft exclusives to show off.

All I know is I'm not gonna buy any console and stick to building a PC. I have never been more turned off by nextgen vidya than at this moment of my life. Nothing appeals to me anymore.

I'm unironically more intrigued by the Xbox this time around tho I always get the PS first. I just got a new PC though and the 2 or 3 "exclusives" I want are getting released on PC at a later date so I'm waiting it out and probably getting an RTX 3070 instead
