Assasin's Creed

What was the best installment? For me it's Black Flag followed by Odyssey.

Unity after patches.

Utterly based.

Also it's hard to decide, I like them all except syndicate that one was trash.

I've only played a couple but the new one looks really cool to be honest

Black Flag, Rogue, and Unity are the only good ones, and even those games have problems of their own except maybe Rogue

bump

2 and Revelations.

Brotherhood, but it aged like milk. It was pure kino when it launched, no other AC game came close to it.

See, I can still go back to BF for example and it holds up.

2 was fucking amazing when it launched, have to agree.

II and Odyssey.
Origins was much better than Odyssey in everything besides the story and all the autism-relieving shit an open-world AC could offer. And yet, it still feels like a shit game.

In all honesty, Unity is the one that holds up the best. Years from now, Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla will feel outdated, but Unity will still be a worthwhile experience.

What are you talking about, Origins was better than Odyssey only in story and characters. The more serious tone was closer the traditional AC atmosphere. Odyssey was way too laid back for an AC game, felt like a different series entirely, just like Syndicate. But unlike Syndicate it was actually fun and comfy to play.

Can I skip to the second one without touching the first one?
I’m planning on working my way through the series

This. Only game since 1/2 that gave the player real agency in how they carried out assassinations. Plus, unlike the Ezio trilogy you weren't an unstoppable God of death as soon as you got a single counter.

Brotherhood and Black Flag were the peak.
Origins was okay, but Asscreed is fated to stay mediocre till death thanks to Odseesy and the way VikingShit is turning out to look

Origins had the best world, because it felt alive, with various notes and environmental storytelling. Odyssey lacked that entirely.
Black Flag had the best atmosphere, with everything being dirty but beautiful, and sailing was just such a great inclusion.
I think people overhype II and Brotherhood (II especially), but they are a shore to replay.
Unity was a disappointment, but admittedly far better after patches. Syndicate is underrated, in my opinion, and the Evie/Jacob team was a lot of fun.

2 since it's the one i played

AC2 is the only good AC game.

Based unity poster

bro just play the first one its short enough

I really liked the ezio trilogy and 4 had a really cool setting snd gameplay so those

2 and 3
Black Flag is more of a pirate game than it is an AC game.

That's what I'm talking about. The original writers left, all that's left apparently is to fuck around with very old historical settings and much more Isu shit than in the previous games. Odyssey did that very well, and if that's the direction the series should take, then I'm all for it. I had such an unexpected amount of fun with Odyssey, I'm ready to do that all over again.
I hope Valhalla has Odyssey's quests with everything else Origins had, but better. With at least one cameo from Kassandra, since she's supposed to be alive and kicking then. I'm talking about gman-like appearances accross the map during quests, that the player could easily miss. Anything more would be horribly autistic.

I honestly can't get into the new combat system and kinda miss the old bamham combat as easy as it was. It just felt better. That's the only thing holding me back which sucks because Valhalla looks great

first one is kino for the setting alone. Not enough games set during the crusades

They went from bamham combat to bamham combat done right. It actually feels like what combat should have been in AC from the start. You mess up your sneaky way into this fort? Now you gotta fight the guards fair and square or make a run for it. It just feels right.

the writing has completely jumped the shark by now, I mean the implications of immortal kassandra fuck with every single ass creed game up to modern day. makes no sense why they would be immortal and basically do nothing throughout all of the struggles between ass/templars? the fuck were they doing?

Last asscreed game I played was AC: revelations and when I heard Desmond died, I stopped caring, but then I played Black Flags. BF was great, but I don't care to get back into it.

They could stop being scared and relying on the Ass Creed name and animus shit and just stick with releasing games in different eras

I remember not understanding what the fuck was going on during the present-day parts of the second game. And these tie into the fucked up ANCIENT ALIEN parts of the main parts of each game so if you want to understand the series, you might want to play the one that started it all.

He was protecting the staff, dummy.

2, 3, unity, the rest

based
the naval aspect really is great, even though it's repetitive

didn't brotherhood have a tower defense mini game? lmao I don't even know how they threw that in there
