If they actually want anyone to give a shit about the megaman brand they really need a decent 3D game.
This is a franchise with like over 100 games and not even 30 million in lifetime sales. I love megaman but the truth is the average game in the franchise has legitimately sold less than 1 million copies.
You can honestly see how little of a impact megaman has had on gamers just by looking at the steam store. Loads of shitty platformers, loads of shitty metroidvanias, nostalgia games for basically every NES game except megaman, Which has like one nostalgia indie game 20xx
